Greetings friends of Hive, welcome to my post once again, I am Nitsu and on this occasion I want to share with you the process I carry out to carry out these pencils of the character ´´Manos´´ from the well-known series…. And to begin, I tell you that it was taking me a lot to get the base file to print with my machines, so to stop wasting time I decided to do it myself. I took a base file by hand and with the Mesh Mixer I decided to hollow out the piece, once I got the desired result I exported it to the 3D laminating program to print.
I positioned the STL file in such a way that it would save printing time and obtain the best result, the piece took about 9 hours to print and I removed all the supports to start the painting job. In general, it is convenient for me to put together several things to paint since I optimize time and make better use of the paint.
The most difficult part of the process had already been solved, what was left to do was paint all the pencils skin color, paint the nails, the staples of the scars and place some details to make it look much better. So I started by giving it a skin-colored base with acrylic that I also mixed with a little orange to darken the tone, as you can see in some of the images, I went a little out of proportion and I ended up with more orange than I would like. , but it didn't turn out to be a big problem.
Place several layers to cover, preventing the white base color of the plastic from being noticeable. Once the surface was dry, I proceeded to paint the nails by mixing brown acrylic and a little black to achieve a result closer to the reality of this character and I considered that It has turned out very well. Then with a finer brush and using black acrylic little by little I marked the grooves of the scars, this to emphasize the depth of the wound.
Later with black acrylic and the same fine brush I carefully highlighted the staples of the scars and to finish with another brush and red acrylic I marked all the open wounds, making them stand out much more and reinforcing the personality of these incredible pencils.
Once I took the time to fix small details and areas where I needed to paint, I waited for the pieces to dry so I could start the varnish stage to protect the paint so that it can be handled without fear of damaging it.
The truth is that the painting job has been simple but very rewarding to do, the difficult and hardest real work was in the previous editing and 3D printing stage.

These 3D printed pencil holders are incredible works of art my friend!
Nine hours is not bad on the Ender. What layer height did you use? 0.2 mm? The layering looks good. Lately I've been having issues with layering on this machine, never-ending issue.
I also just came to this realization looking at your photographs, that 3D printing is quite suitable for printing replicas of certain human body parts because the layering naturally emulates the lines in the hands. Very cool.
You achieved a lot this year and I wish you the best for your goals next year as well!
Friend, thank you very much for reading and leaving these nice words, the truth is I don't remember if I printed it with my Ender or with my CR10 V3 with 0.6 nozzle but most likely the layer height is 0.28.
Sisi I have definitely achieved a lot, here I have only shown achievements but a lot of bad things have happened to me haha but that's it, thanks to that I am here tougher and wiser.
This is one cool creative idea that I've never seen before. Awesome work:)
I had seen that other people made pencils but since I couldn't get the file and I didn't want to buy, I decided to put it together, print it and start marketing it.
Now how cool is that! I love it Nitsu! Congrats!
Ohh how long, I've been a bit neglecting you, sorry, I have to go back to your blog to read everything and catch up haha, thank you so much for stopping by. Happy end of the year
Oh, don't worry as I haven't been active and I've been posting only technical analysis.
Wow!!! They looks amazing my son would surely love it. Great job
I'm sure you will, they are very attractive and a nice detail to have at home, thank you for stopping by to read and leaving these nice words. A very good end to the year
Quedó increíble!! Quedé impactada con lo perfecta que quedó. Muchos detalles que hacen la diferencia. Excelente trabajo ✨
It's true, even I hadn't appreciated the amount of detail, the shattering, the blood, the staple joints, hahaha, thank you very much for stopping by and observing the details.
Thank you, I really always strive to do a good job and give the best to my clients so I appreciate that it shows.
Thank you so much, your words really make me happy. I agree with the details, they are very nice. I put a lot of effort into them. Thank you for appreciating them.
