Saludos a la comunidad de hivediy al igual aquellos artesanos y visitantes que hacen que circulen las ideas y el compartir además de las inquietudes, me parece muy interesante esta iniciativa contra el bloqueo creativo, así que compartiré el vínculo que tengo con la siguiente herramienta y como me lóevo a desarrollar mi primer instrumento musical, además compartiré sus funciones.
Aproximadamente en el año 2020 me encontraba en la tarea de fabricar mi primer instrumento, elegí hacer un ukelele soprano el más pequeño de la familia además de que sería un regalo para mi compañera @verdeayer, fue un paso más que estaba dando en mi formación autodidacta como luthier, ya que hasta ese momento solo hacia reparaciones sencillas de instrumentos.
Me encontraba con el inconveniente de no tener un plano además de no tener un maestro físico que me guiara, solo virtuales, videos, lectura y conversas con algunos luthieres, pero nada muy concreto, así que para seguir en la aventura debía primero fabricar una herramienta y como estudiante de arte en ese entonces y mi gusto por el dibujo técnico decidí hacer mi propio plano y quien me ayudo en la proporción fue esa herramienta de trabajo que me fabrique.
Para los que desconocen esta herramienta, es un compás áureo, lo fabrique con unas maderas que eran de un bastidor, resulta que este curioso compas divide un segmento según la proporción áurea (la divina proporción) vinculada con el número de oro o el número de Dios él (1,618) y nos determina un resultado estético en comunión con la naturaleza, se usa comúnmente en el dibujo anatómico y en las esculturas donde estudien los canones de la figura humana, pero desconocía su función en la luthería.
En ese entonces solo tenía medidas como : el largo del instrumento y el largo de la caja armónica, este compás me ayudo a proporcionar este ukelele, desde este momento mi cosmovisión de la luthería fue más allá de solo fabricar un instrumento o dar sonido a un mueble como dicen algunos, pues me encontraba observando que la morfología de estos instrumentos no tenía sus dimensiones por pura casualidad, quienes diseñaron estos instrumentos dieron uso de la divina proporción, tal como los usos da vici y Fibonacci en la arquitectura, aunque mi compas no estaba fabricado con tal precisión me guio en los primeros pasos para dar forma a este proyecto.
Cabe destacar que esta herramienta nos ayuda a proporcionar la caja armónica, tanto el ancho de los lóbulos superiores e inferiores y la cintura, además de ubicar la boca del instrumento, al igual nos aporta una idea aparente en la medida del mástil, pero esto sí se calcula con una fórmula matemática, es decir para este proyecto solo necesitaba hacer mi diapasón y con el compás determinaba la proporción de mi cordófono, podríamos decir entonces que un instrumento musical está realizado bajo una concepción mística donde “el todo es mayor que la suma de sus partes” esto me lo corroboro esta austera herramienta la cual me ayudo a determinar el diseño de este ukelele que con tanto cariño y mucha dedicación obsequie a un ser tan especial en mi vida.
Esta herramienta me ha ayudado en múltiples tareas, tanto en algunas esculturas que he creado, en los arreglos de los cordófonos y les aseguro que podemos usarlas en otras tareas de la artesanía para dar uso de las proporciones áureas lo cual aporta, belleza, equilibrio y en cierta medida estaríamos hablando de él uso de la herramienta para categorizar la obra según la estética de "lo bello", aunque en la construcción de instrumento no es común su uso para mí marcó un inicio lleno de armonía, además de ser un objeto de apoyo para dar un paso, fue una herramienta que reveló algunas de las verdades de este curioso oficio, me despido con una pregunta.
