Hola a todos, feliz inicio de semana, deseo que estén muy bien. Hoy quiero compartirles el proceso creativo que realicé para elaborar un letrero con un lindo mensaje para mi jardín.
Desde hace varios meses he invertido mucho tiempo y dinero en construir mi jardín, en lo que anteriormente era un lugar para botar escombros, pero luego de que abriera mi entrada independiente, terminó siento el frente de mi apartamento, así que un jardín en ese espacio quedó estupendo.
Para realizar este letrero utilicé dos tablas de madera que tenía guardadas. Mi papá me ayudó a picarlas con ayuda de una cierra. Yo le hice las guías y él me ayudó con la sierra. Las mandé a picar de forma dispareja para darle un estilo diferente.
Hello everyone, happy start of the week, I hope you are very well. Today I want to share with you the creative process I did to make a sign with a nice message for my garden.
For several months I have invested a lot of time and money in building my garden, in what used to be a place to dump debris, but after I opened my independent entrance, it ended up feeling like the front of my apartment, so a garden in that space was great.
To make this sign I used two wooden boards that I had in storage. My dad helped me cut them with the help of a saw. I made the guides and he helped me with the saw. I had them chopped unevenly to give it a different style.
Para la base del letrero, le pedí a mi papá que me consiguiera un palo seco, que pudiera enterrar y, a su vez, que me sirviera de base para el letrero.
Así que, teniendo las tablas picadas, escogí un mensaje motivador que me gustaba y distribuí el texto en esas tablitas. Después, con ayuda de un lápiz, fui marcando las letras en la tabla para que esta me sirviera de guía para cuando me tocara escribir en pintura.
Lo siguiente que hice fue pintar, con ayuda de un pincel grueso y pinturas al frío, el fondo de cada tabla. Lo hice con colores diferentes para que se viera más atractivo.
For the base of the sign, I asked my dad to get me a dry stick, which I could bury and, in turn, serve as the base for the sign.
So, having the chopped boards, I chose a motivational message that I liked and distributed the text on those little boards. Then, with the help of a pencil, I marked the letters on the board so that it would serve as a guide for when I had to write in paint.
The next thing I did was to paint, with the help of a thick brush and cold paints, the background of each board. I did it with different colors to make it look more attractive.
Estas bases se llevaron dos manos de pintura para que el color quedara de forma uniforme. Después de que estaban secas, remarqué nuevamente las letras con lápiz y, con ayuda de un pincel fino y en color negro, comencé a escribir el mensaje en cada tabla.
Lo siguiente que hice fue el armado. Utilicé ese palo seco que ya tenía varias semanas guardado y con ayuda de clavos y martillo, fui fijando cada tabla y armando mi letrero, dejando algunos centímetros de separación entre tabla y tabla.
Al tener el letrero armado y ya seco, comencé a hacerle unos detallitos con el pincel fino, en lo que eran las orillas y el fondo. Así que determiné que ya estaba listo y lo enterré.
These bases took two coats of paint so that the color would be uniform. After they were dry, I outlined the letters again with pencil and, with the help of a fine brush and in black, I began to write the message on each board.
The next thing I did was the assembly. I used that dry stick that I had been saving for several weeks and with the help of nails and a hammer, I fixed each board and assembled my sign, leaving a few centimeters of separation between each board.
Once the sign was assembled and dry, I began to make some details with the fine brush, in what were the edges and the bottom. So I determined that it was ready and I buried it.
Pero luego me di cuenta de que en la noche las letras que estaban en negro con el fondo oscuro no se veían. Intenté hacerle el contorno en blanco y tampoco se veían. Así que decidí cambiar la letra a color blanco y en ese momento el cambio fue notorio.
Así que, ya teniendo todos los detalles listos, le apliqué barniz a toda la tabla por adelante, por los costados y por detrás, esto para protegerlo de los efectos del sol y el agua, considerando de que va a estar expuesto a la intemperie.
Para mi sorpresa, luego de unas semanas de haber sembrado mi letrero, este comenzó a retoñar y le empezaron a salir ramitas hacia los lados. Yo estaba encantada, no pensé que podía ser posible y más porque el palo tenía ya varias semanas cortado y seco completamente.
But then I noticed that at night the letters that were in black with the dark background were not visible. I tried to make the outline in white and they were not visible either. So I decided to change the lettering to white and at that moment the change was noticeable.
So, having all the details ready, I applied varnish to the whole board on the front, sides and back, this to protect it from the effects of the sun and water, considering that it will be exposed to the elements.
To my surprise, after a few weeks of planting my sign, it began to sprout and twigs began to grow on the sides. I was delighted, I didn't think it could be possible and even more so because the pole had already been cut and completely dried out for several weeks.
Han transcurrido varias semanas desde que lo sembré y el tamaño de sus ramas ha aumentado, el barniz ha protegido muy bien el color de la pintura y se ve hermoso. Conforme van creciendo las plantas del jardín, también va creciendo y sacando ramas mi letrero.
Todo el que pasa se detiene a leer el mensaje y se quedan encantados cuando ven las ramitas de mi letrero. Estoy muy contenta de cómo quedó. Tengo en mente realizar otro letrero para mi jardín cuando tenga oportunidad y por supuesto lo estaré compartiendo con ustedes a través de mi blog @yelimarin. Hasta pronto.
It has been several weeks since I planted it and the size of its branches has increased, the varnish has protected the color of the paint very well and it looks beautiful. As the plants in the garden are growing, so is my sign growing and branching out.
Everyone who passes by stops to read the message and is delighted when they see the twigs on my sign. I am very happy with how it turned out.
