Everyone has a bath towel and when it comes to buying one, everyone will choose one for several basic reasons, namely:
1. Material
Although towels are made of various basic materials such as cotton, polyester, nylon, microfiber, linen and others. But, generally someone will choose the material made of cotton.
Cotton is the best material because it has excellent ability and absorbency. Cotton fiber has more space and pores, therefore it is able to store more air, so when wet it will have good water absorption.
2. Size
In addition to the type of material, the absorption speed of the towel is also affected by the surface area.
The wider the surface size of the towel, the higher and faster the ability to absorb water will be.
People buy it, usually considering the size of each body and its intended use. Of course you wouldn't use a sports towel to shower, would you?
3. Thickness & density
In addition to size, thickness and density also greatly determine the speed at which the towel absorbs water.
The thickness of the towel is determined by the amount of space the fabric has. While the density is determined by how much the composition of the material.
Even though they are both made of cotton and of the same size, a thicker cotton towel with a higher density will be more absorbent than a thinner cotton towel with a lower density.
But, did you know???
It turns out that someone buys more towels other than because of the material, size and thickness considerations, the rest is only because of color considerations.
The choice of color is only due to preferences and tastes, nothing more. It's only because of your personality traits.
In my opinion, there are other, more important reasons for choosing towels. What's that?
Gramation.
Have you heard of it? There will be more question marks if you don't continue reading the following reviews.
Gramation (GSM) is the standard for measuring fabrics in the textile world. It is simply interpreted as grams per square meter.
Textile experts recommend a quality bath towel is one that has a number above 500 gsm. This means about the absorbency and durability of the towel. The higher the GSM number, the better the quality, but the heavier the towel will be and it will feel like your winter blanket.
These towels are more expensive and last for many years and feel very comfortable and smooth when in contact with your skin. It feels exactly like the towels you often receive when you're in 5-star hotels.
Then, how to measure it? You must very carefully read the instructions and descriptions attached to the towels you buy, it's simple!
Would you choose one towel at the top of the shelf or would you prefer the bottom one next?
Best Regards
