NATURE OBSERVER SERVICE POST

in Nature Observer4 months ago

Greetings to our community, and I'm reaching out to you with a question.

Today in Nature Observer we have such a nice article about Chobe National Park, i.e. the location and interesting information about one species, in this case elephants.
https://peakd.com/hive-130906/@digi-me/chobe-national-park-is-famous
The article contradicts the current rules, I originally set up this Hive account/community just for specific sightings, which I think we are doing well.

Should we add the ability to post articles about specific locations?

I don't mean just about the big parks like this Chobe article,(that one is kind of travel related) but more about where we observe and take pictures.
We have contributors from Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Ukraine, USA, Czech Republic and I may have forgotten someone.
I'm sure there is a big difference between where we go to take photos and what nature is like in your area and access to it.

Please take part in the survey:
YES we will extend the rules
NO we will leave the rules unchanged

Thank you for participating and happy observing!

I really like the nature watchers community. Thank you very much. The nature watchers community makes me more excited and entertained by the many extraordinary natural beauties.and I always follow the rules applied in the nature observer community. ❤

Thank you too for your contribution

I voted for yes, although I have not yet made any contribution. But it is still on my list, but having a wider rule might open up for new contributor to the community.

Understood.

I didn't have time to vote, so I'm writing in the comments, I think there should be an expansion of the rules

I do't agree with listing the location and time, especially in detail using a particular app or link. This is because of the low protection in my area (country). If the place and time are specifically stated, it will provide good information for hunters.

I understand you're not putting the coordinates on the Hive, it's public here.
But on iNaturalist you can put the location as "private" and only you and the people you allow to see it. The location of an endangered species is hidden automatically.
