After finding this beautiful Croton flower and taking some pictures of it, I decided to do some research on the plant and share the results with you.

Scientific name: Codiaeum variegatum
Family: Euphorbiaceae
Distribution
Native to Asia and Indonesia. In Guatemala, it is mainly found in the warm coastal areas of Escuintla, Santa Rosa, Izabal and Suchitepéquez.
Description:
Shrub with colorful foliage in yellow, green, and reddish hues. The leaves are shiny and leathery. It has a clear, toxic sap. The flowers are arranged in an inflorescence. They are tiny and whitish.
• Shrubs ideal for indoor use, prized for the variety of colors in their leaves.
• Belonging to the Euphorbiaceae family.
• Can reach heights of up to 3 meters.
Environmental needs:
• Lighting: Needs plenty of indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight. Ideal near a window.
• Temperature: Prefers stable temperatures, avoiding sudden changes and drafts.
• Watering: 2-3 times a week in spring and summer, 4-5 days in winter. Do not let the substrate dry out.
• Humidity: Requires high humidity.
Uses:
• Ornamental: Highly popular indoor plant due to its beauty and colorful foliage.
• Medicinal:
• Powerful purgative: A single drop can cause profuse diarrhea. Used in cases of dropsy, apoplexy and against tapeworms.
• Antiviral activity: Has activity against HIV.
• External use: Can cause skin rashes when applied in friction.
Precautions:
• Croton is toxic, so it is important to keep it out of reach of children and pets.
• Its sap can cause skin irritation.

Después de encontrar esta hermosa flor de Croto y tomarle unas fotos decidí investigar un poco más sobre la planta y compartir con ustede los resultados .

• Pueden alcanzar los 3 metros de altura.
Necesidades ambientales:
• Iluminación: Necesita mucha luz indirecta, evitando el sol directo. Ideal cerca de una ventana.
• Temperatura: Prefiere temperaturas estables, evitando cambios bruscos y corrientes de aire.
• Riego: 2-3 veces por semana en primavera y verano, 4-5 días en invierno. No dejar secar el sustrato.

Usos:
