The beautiful mushroom Pluteus semibulbosus is a very popular species and comes from the genus pluteus, this mushroom is also known as an inhabitant of rotten wood which is included in the pluteaceae family, this mushroom is often found in damp forests and is rich in organic matter which is undergoing a period of decomposition , the name semibulbosus refers to the slightly rounded shape of the mushroom's stem, and this gives it a distinctive characteristic that differentiates it from other species in the same genus.
Morphologically, this mushroom has a cap (pileus) which is convex to flat as the fungus grows, this fungus is relatively small, only measuring around 2-5 centimeters, the surface of the mushroom cap is light brown to cream in color with a smooth texture, while the gills under the mushroom cap are dark brown color, while the stem has a bright white color and often a slight thickening at the base and this corresponds to its name.
The Pluteus semibulbosus fungus is a saprophytic fungus, which means that this fungus obtains nutrients by decomposing organic material such as rotting wood, and thanks to its ability to decompose organic material, the Pluteus semibulbosus fungus is considered very important in the ecosystem, because it helps the decomposition process and the nutrient cycle in forests, this fungus usually grows solitary or in small groups on dead wood, including tree trunks, stumps or wood chips.
