Dragonflies are fascinating insects known for their agile flying and stunning colors. They belong to the order Odonata, which also includes damselflies, and they’re often spotted near water since their larvae, called nymphs, live in aquatic environments. Dragonflies are easily recognizable by their large, multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, and elongated bodies. These wings allow them to fly in all directions, hover, and even mate mid-air.
