Urang Aring (Eclipta prostrata)

Even though this plant is considered a weed, it also has many benefits. Since ancient times, when we were not familiar with information technology (there was no Google), this plant has been believed to be a medicinal plant. A baby who is only a few days old is usually given drops from the stem of this plant to the eyebrows with the aim of having thick, black eyebrows, which is what mothers usually do to their newborn children. This plant in my village is known as the Urang Aring plant.

Urang Aring or Eclipta prostrata is a type of wild plant that is often found in bushes exposed to direct sunlight, the easiest place to find is in rice fields. It grows among wild grasses and is only a few centimeters high. It has blooming flowers with a white crown and when the petals fall off only the seeds are formed like studs that women wear in their ears.

It turns out that after the opening of information technology (via Google search) this plant does have several benefits that can be used for herbal medicine. Urang Aring or Eclipta prostrata can be used as a hair fertilizer, treating headaches and fevers and treating wounds. This plant can also be made into tea by drying it first and then brewing it with hot water.
