Caterpillar of the blue-banded king crow butterfly

Today I managed to find a very beautiful caterpillar in the wild. The caterpillar is the larva of the blue-banded king crow butterfly or in Latin known as Euploea eunice. This caterpillar is very different from any caterpillar I have ever found before. It has a unique characteristic, it is rare for a caterpillar to have more than two pairs of filaments. However, this caterpillar has four pairs of filaments which makes its appearance even more attractive.

I found this caterpillar crawling on one of the plant twigs. He continued to creep, apparently his target was the tip of the leaf. When he arrived at the leaf, he didn't immediately eat the leaf but buried his head below his body, as if he was looking for something in the lower part of his body. Not long after, he immediately re-examined the leaves in front of him. Without waiting long, I immediately approached to take a photo.

This caterpillar has a very beautiful body posture, long and slender. Actually, this caterpillar is very small, but its color is striking so it is easy to see. If you look closely, the color of this caterpillar is very similar to the color of a zebra, white with black stripes along its body. Between the white and black colors there is also orange which makes the appearance of this caterpillar even more prominent. Rarely have any caterpillars I've ever encountered had color variations like this. The color is so beautiful that I can't stop admiring it.
