Caterpillar of the Ceylon blue glassy tiger butterfly | Ideopsis similis

Hello everyone, good afternoon wherever you are, how are you this afternoon? Hope you are fine wherever you are.

I"m back here again and on this occasion I want to show you some beautiful shots of a caterpillar on a green leaf. I found this caterpillar pacing back and forth on the leaf. His behavior made me heartbroken. Even though I really wanted to be closer to the caterpillar. However, he never stood still, he kept pacing back and forth on the leaves like someone dancing on stage to entertain his fans. He made such agile movements, his skills were worthy of thumbs up, he looked very skilled. The incredible talent entertained the audience.

This is the caterpillar of the Ceylon blue glassy tiger butterfly, in Latin known as Ideopsis similis which comes from the Nymphalidae family. This caterpillar is one of the caterpillars whose color is very beautiful and its behavior is very different from other caterpillars that I have ever found. This is the first time I have found a caterpillar with a color like this, it is very beautiful. Its entire body is maroon colored and decorated with small, dense white balls. The horns are red and black. While the head is shiny black.

Thank you for your support.

He is an interesting caterpillar with all those tiny spots.

Yes, you are right. The freckles are what make him stand out more.
