Tetracera scandens | Ujung Pancu, Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia |
When I observed birds in nature I found a quite interesting plant, namely Tetracera scandens. A climbing plant that has the characteristics of oval and tapered fruit, usually the flowers are white and numerous. The leaves are oval-shaped and the edges of the leaves are serrated. I often find this plant in secondary forests and coastal areas. This species plays an important role in protecting the soil from erosion and providing shelter for various small fauna. Interestingly, this plant is a special attraction for birds, it can be seen from the many birds that forage around this plant, especially birds that eat seeds and eat insects. This is interesting to observe because as a bird observer other aspects such as food trees are very important to observe.
