I love your characters and being able to see your creative process is super interesting! I also appreciate that you described some of the steps (as for the layers' mode: multiply, overlay, etc.) as this can help others learn new skills and improve their ability :)

Absolutely! Imitating artists' work or sketching real-life scenes are excellent ways to help you understanding of shadows and lights. It's all about applying what you learn through practice. Keep experimenting, and you'll see improvement over time!
