This post kinda follows on from the one I wrote last week. In it I mentioned about the release of the Alpha Vials, and that although I immediately purchased 2 of them, I really wanted more!
To that end I started the HP power down process to access some funds. This was the first time I had ever done this in the 4 years I've been here on Hive, so that decision wasn't taken lightly. I initiated the power down 7 days ago, and earlier today that first 'withdrawal' took place, and I gained 304 Hive:
I quickly went to the Shop and with some other liquid hive I had accumulated over the past week, I had enough to buy 3 Alpha Vials for 315.99 Hive
I was really pleased to see that the Hive price had increased slightly in the past few days as this affects the price I pay. Four days ago this transaction would have cost closer 360 Hive

For know though there is a benefit of buying these Vials early in preparation for when the game eventually goes live, as these Vials now count as items in my inventory, which in turn result in receiving part of the collection rewards
I'm sure most people know this, but there are plenty of ways to get reward in Zing tokens, by either Delegating HP to @zingtoken , by Staking Zing tokens (i.e. keeping them locked up, and not liquid) and finally from Collection Rewards
As part of my collection, I now have a total of 5 items in my inventory, which will lead to an increase in rewards of the Zing Token.
Don't ask me what the actual numbers are for the rewards, as it looks very complicated, I just know the numbers go up, and right now, that is all that matters!
As part of my Collection I also have 2 Achievements. There are currently 4 available to claim, and they are all rewards for users who have chosen to invest time in the game, and can be unlocked by reaching certain criteria
Achievement 1 - The first of these is linked to an event which ran in December 2023. In order to complete this, users had to 'claim' zing rewards every day in December, for a total of 31 days. This reward also gave me a discount of 31% on my first Alpha Vial purchase (a saving of almost 7HBD which was very useful!)
The 2nd and 3rd Achievements were announced in a post 11 days ago - Two additional soulbound achievements are now live!

Achievement 2 is for the amount of referrals a user has achieved, and is a reward for sharing this game far and wide (which is a good thing obviously, as more people involved makes for a better game AND an increase in value of the Zing token). I don't have any referrals yet, so if anyone would like to help me with that, please feel free to click on my Referral Link to help me out haha! This Achievement has different levels as different referral targets are reached.
Achievement 3 is linked to the amount of Zing rewards a user has received. As mentioned above, there are many different ways to earn Zing rewards, and the achievement has different levels depending on reaching certain milestones. Level 1 is when a user has earnt 1 Million Zing in rewards, and this goes all the way up to Level 4 for 100 Million Zing rewarded.
I've only received a paltry 69 thousand Zing so far, so there's a LONG way to go to before I achieve Level 1, let alone Levels 2 and above!
In fact, so far there are only 21 users who have achieved that Level 1 Achievement! But that is ok... for an achievement to be worth doing, and for people to earn rewards, it should be challenging and should take time so that only the users who invest in the time and the effort get their due rewards.
Achievement 4 is the newest one, and I only noticed it had appeared today. As you can see above, it is pretty self-explanatory! Any user who has been a member of @Holozing for over 1 year will earn this. I suppose it is quite an easy one to achieve as it is purely time based. If you choose to sign up to the game, then in a years time you will get a reward
As achievements go, these have a nice balance of 'easy to achieve' and 'difficult to achieve'. That means the casual gamer can get involved with these, but also there is a bigger challenge for those who look for it. It will be interesting to see what what other achievements could look like. I suspect (or predict?) there will be ones for gameplay such as catching a certain number of creatures, or unlocking particular items, or maybe the amount of battles won?
Going back full circle to start. My first week of powering down rewarded me with 304 Hive, and I am going to wait for a 2nd week to clear. This will hopefully enable me to buy a further 3 Vials (for a total of 8) and then I will stop the power down, for the moment at least. Then it will just be a case of getting back to the grind of accumulating as much HP, HIVE and HBD as I can, so I am ready to act when the next update arrives.
