Today I bring you another of my fan art drawings inspired by another of Holozing's creatures. This time I have chosen Cinelara to create my own version of what I imagine would be an android girl with ladybug-like insect features.
My idea was to create a cyborg girl with similar traits to Cinelara, having as a secondary source of inspiration the movie Alita: Combat Angel. And if you haven't seen the movie, I recommend it.

Hoy les traigo otro de mis dibujos fan art inspirados en otra de las criaturas de Holozing. En esta ocasión he elegido a Cinelara para crear mi propia versión de lo que me imagino que sería una chica androide con rasgos de insectos del tipo mariquita.
Mi idea era crear una chica cyborg con rasgos similares a los de Cinelara, teniendo como fuente de inspiración secundaria la película Alita: Ángel de combate. Y si no has visto la película, te la recomiendo.
During the drawing process, I must admit that among all the creative liberties I took, the design and color of the wings stands out, which do not correspond to the type of those of an insect. Even so, I decided to go for the option I show here, since these brightly colored mechanical wings combine better with the character's design. Or at least that's how I see it.
Durante el proceso de dibujo, debo admitir que entre todas las libertades creativas que tomé destaca el diseño y color de las alas, las cuales no corresponden con el tipo de las de un insecto. Aun así, decidí optar por la opción que muestro, ya que estas alas mecánicas de colores brillantes combinan mejor con el diseño del personaje. O al menos así lo veo yo.
Step by step // Paso a paso
As usual, I started creating the concept sketch, drawing several lines until I was satisfied with the pre-template. I added some additional elements to the sketch itself, such as the antennae, the glasses and the wings. By the way, if you notice, the layout of the drawing is not elongated as usual, since I had to modify the width of the canvas to make room for the wings.
Como de costumbre, empecé creando el boceto conceptual, trazando varias líneas hasta quedar satisfecho con la pre-plantilla. Al propio boceto le agregué algunos elementos adicionales, como son las antenas, los anteojos y las alas. Por cierto, si se dan cuenta, la distribución del dibujo no es alargada como de costumbre, ya que tuve que modificar el ancho del lienzo para dar espacio a las alas.

With the sketch ready, I started to create the line art. I started by drawing the hair and, while I was at it, I added the accessories and antennae that go over it. Next, I drew the outline of the body and the shoulder pads. Once the metal parts of the body were added, I then drew the wings.
Con el boceto listo, paso a crear el line art. Comencé dibujando el cabello y, de paso, agregué los accesorios y antenas que van sobre este. A continuación, dibujé el contorno del cuerpo y las hombreras. Una vez agregadas las partes metálicas del cuerpo, dibujé entonces las alas.

When I started coloring, I did it by filling in all the red areas with a mixture of a bright orangey red, which I noticed stood out a lot, and I degraded it a bit. I then applied an opaque jet blue to the wing joints and the rest of the body, including the arms. The spots on the body are black, like the ladybugs, and the eyes are golden yellow, just like the original design. In the case of the hair, I thought about painting it black, but then I changed my mind and chose a faint purple with zero opacity.
Cuando empecé a dar color, lo hice rellenando todas las áreas rojas con una mezcla de un rojo anaranjado brillante, el cual me di cuenta de que resaltaba mucho, y lo degradé un poco. Luego apliqué un azul azabache opaco en las uniones de las alas y en el resto del cuerpo, incluyendo los brazos. Las manchas del cuerpo son negras, como las de las mariquitas, y los ojos son amarillo dorado, tal cual el diseño original. En el caso del cabello, pensé en pintarlo de negro, pero luego cambié de idea y elegí un morado tenue con cero opacidad.

Once I colored all the areas of the drawing, I went on to adjust the tones of some areas to facilitate the lighting and shading work that I would do later. I did the lighting and shading work from top to bottom, from left to right, prioritizing the lighting of the hair and the reflection of the wings.
By the way, on the inside of the hair I gave it a different shade and color thinking that's how it would look with the reflection of the red color of the wings, but according to my wife, what I did was to give it a two-layered hair color style which is in fashion. 😅
Una vez di color a todas las áreas del dibujo, pasé a ajustar los tonos de algunas zonas para así facilitar el trabajo de iluminación y sombreado que haría después. Dicho trabajo de iluminación y sombreado lo hice de arriba hacia abajo, de izquierda a derecha, priorizando la iluminación del cabello y el reflejo de las alas.
Por cierto, en el interior del pelo le di un tono y color distinto pensando en que así se vería con el reflejo del color rojo de las alas, pero según mi esposa, lo que hice fue darle un estilo de color de pelo de dos capas que está de moda. 😅

Finally, I export the image in PNG format to the gallery and apply a filter to remaster and accentuate the colors. This is the finished drawing. I hope you like it.
