Greetings, Holo-fans. Today I share with you another of my fan art drawings inspired by one of the creatures of the Holozing game. As you can see, this time it's the turn of Gemino, an incredible creature that, according to its creators, in combat would be a kind of tank, which would protect itself with its shell full of gems. But the Gemino I have drawn is different and its green skin color hides a story behind it.
Saludos, Holo-fanáticos. El día de hoy les comparto otro de mis dibujos fan art inspirados en una de las criaturas del juego Holozing. Como podrán observar, esta vez le ha tocado el turno a Gemino, una criatura increíble que, según sus creadores, en combate sería una especie de tanque, el cual se protegería con su caparazón lleno de gemas. Pero el Gemino que he dibujado es diferente y su color de piel verde oculta una historia detrás.
This geminus has lived many years in the depths, and the humidity of the caves has caused a thin layer of moss to grow on its skin, and that is why it looks like this. And it's not that he likes the life of a hermit, it's just that this geminus is the last of its species, a species that suffered a hunt that brought it to the brink of extinction. All this because of a false belief that the gems growing on its back had healing powers similar to those of the philosopher's stone.
That's why this Gemino looks like this, that and the fact that in my mind it looks like a mix between a turtle and a dinosaur, and I was very excited to draw it green. Still, I mixed green and yellow, so it's not so far from its original color. I hope you like the drawing.
Este Gemino ha vivido muchos años en las profundidades, y la humedad de las cuevas ha hecho crecer una fina capa de musgo en su piel, y es por eso que luce así. Y no es que le guste la vida de ermitaño, es solo que este gemino es el último de su especie, especie la que sufrió una cacería que la llevó al borde de la extinción. Todo esto por una falsa creencia de que las gemas que crecen en su espalda tenían poderes curativos semejantes a los de la piedra filosofal.
Es por ello que este Gemino luce así, eso y el hecho de que en mi mente luce como una mezcla entre tortuga y dinosaurio, y me hacía mucha ilusión dibujarlo verde. Aun así, mezclé verde y amarillo, así que no está tan lejos de su color original. Espero que les guste el dibujo.

I began by creating the sketch of Gemino's figure using ovoid figures, since his body is very chubby. Then, with another color, but with the same brush, I marked the aggregates of the shell, the spikes in the form of gems and some elements of the environment and the background.
Comencé creando el boceto de la figura de Gemino utilizando figuras ovoides, ya que su cuerpo está bien pachoncito. Luego, con otro color, pero con el mismo pincel, fui marcando los agregados del caparazón, las púas en forma de gemas y algunos elementos del entorno y el fondo.

Using the sketch as a reference, I gradually created the line art of Gemino. Then, lowering the width of the brush to 1px, I drew a floor below the character, a stream of water on the left side and, on the right side, the entrance to a cave. All the lines of the drawing were like this.
Utilizando el boceto como referencia, fui creando poco a poco el line art de Gemino. A continuación, bajando la anchura del pincel a 1px, dibujé un suelo debajo del personaje, un torrente de agua en la parte izquierda y, en la parte derecha, la entrada a una cueva. Quedaron así todas las líneas del dibujo.

After going over some strokes and saving the color palette, I started coloring Geminus, which, as I explained in the introduction, is going to be more green than yellow, with a brown shell, dark brown nails and a pastel magenta in the gems on his back.
Luego de repasar algunos trazos y de guardar la paleta de colores, empecé a dar color a Gémino, el cual, como expliqué en la introducción, va a ser más verde que amarillo, con un caparazón color café, uñas de color marrón oscuro y un magenta pastel en las gemas de su espalda.

Once I finished coloring Gemino, I moved on to the background in which I used a mixture of carmelites in three different tones, which, together with other figures in two shades of dark green, give a sense of depth.
Una vez terminé de dar color a Gemino, pasé al fondo en el cual utilicé una mezcla de carmelitas en tres tonos distintos, los cuales, unidos a otras figuras en dos tonos de verde oscuro, dan una sensación de profundidad.

Finally, I applied shadows and glows in two different stages, starting by darkening the areas of the gems and some areas of the terrain using fills of the same color, but darker. Then, I used the brushes to blur and thus, varying the original colors, I managed to give the shadows and glows in some key areas of the drawing.
Para finalizar, aplique sombras y brillos en dos etapas distintas, comenzando por oscurecer las áreas de las gemas y algunas zonas del terreno utilizando rellenos del mismo color, pero más oscuros. Ya luego, empleé los pinceles para difuminar y así, variando los colores originales, logré dar las sombras y brillos en algunas zonas claves del dibujo.
