Holo everyone! We've been quite busy before the holidays and have some good news to share with the community! We are very close to inviting a few testers over to our closed alpha, this means that soon a few lucky (selected) testers will be able to check out the game and test it. They'll be giving us feedback on the gameplay, some of our creature moves that are mostly of the physical/normal type currently along with status/stats changing moves, our healer abilities and to continue looking for the right balance of creature Health Points, Defense, Attack and Agility.
We will be asking the testers not to share any footage with the community for the time being as we're awaiting our 3d assets to be finalized which have made great progress since we've found a bigger team working on them, our first healer for instance is almost ready! The closed alpha testing will last a while as we implement some more things we want tested and ready for the beta, this includes creature moves for each type: fire, grass, ice, water, ground, bug, flying and normal. Along with healer synergies with creature friendly creature types and resistances against enemy creature type moves.
We have also yet to start making VFX for our moves, heals and capture attempts but it feels great to start seeing things fall into place at a better pace! We hope that once we feel the game is ready to show to the community we can then shortly after also open the alpha up to more players to stress test our servers to make sure we're ready for the beta which will let everyone start fresh at level 1 with their starter nfts from alpha vials and a minted healer but with a jumpstart in Holo Dust if you're actively participating in the December Calendar event!
Now let's get to the main point of this post today, we've gone ahead and done some much delayed work on picking the names for our rare Dragon type creatures. These creatures will have a very low encounter rate and since in the beta encounters themselves will be quite limited per player on a daily basis, you can expect that only a small percentage of players will be so lucky to encounter one daily thus you ought to make sure to attempt to capture if you see one, especially if they have the holo hue! Furthermore, most players will be encountering the normal type dragon to start off with at the lower levels, once healers and their team start getting to the higher level caps they may have a chance at encountering evolved dragons of a certain creature type. These dragons all start as normal and upon hitting a certain level range players will be able to allow the dragon to evolve but they won't be able to decide which type it evolves into as that will be random. With this we wanted to encourage players to actively trade with each other if their goal is to get one of each dragon types!
When it comes to the names, we wanted the mysticism of how rare these dragon creatures are to reflect on the naming while at the same time allowing the name to be able to evolve along with the creatures, if you remember our post with the naming contest and then our next post showcasing the first evolution of the dragon type creatures it was important for us that the names have room to evolve as we also have a 3rd evolution ready for each of these dragons although we haven't revealed them yet because they won't be making it into the beta due to the level cap. While hosting these contests are a ton of fun and we received so many unique and amazing entries which helped us in coming up with an idea of the naming, we had to unfortunately go the route of picking the names ourselves and then checking if some were close with their suggestions to give them the contest rewards. The only exact name we liked that was suggested came from @hamsterpoweriii for the base normal type dragon which is:
The name of the base normal type was okay for us to stand out to the others and we especially liked the inclusion of the word zing in it! So congratulations to @hamsterpoweriii, we have tipped 50 Hive to your comment suggestion!
There were 3 other users that came really close to the names we ended up picking, you can check how close they were by scrolling through the comment section of the post and looking for the suggestions by @julsdraws & @splintercell-01 and @bitri, we decided to reward them 25 hive each for almost picking the same name we ended up going with!
Without further ado, here are the names for the evolved dragon types and their next evolution!
Keep in mind that there are still one more evolution stage for these creatures as mentioned earlier, we may reveal them in the near future in case we need a filler post if we don't have much to announce (:P), but the plan is to not include them in the beta of the game but further down the line instead when level caps become higher and we know the 3d team can do them justice as they'll require quite a lot of work due to the details and size!
Last but definitely not least, a new normal-type creature enters our roster! This one we have to admit came to us quite randomly as we learned about the breed name sounding similar to our project so we had to come up with something cool to include and it also made the naming of the first evolution easy!
Xolo will be a fast and agile normal type creature who'll be one of the first to learn the move Bite. We liked the Xolo breed a lot and thought it'd fit well to mix it with an Egyptian vibe for the style of this creature. We also didn't have a dog creature in the game yet so we needed something to chase the many Miu's around!
Xolo will evolve into Xolobis, the name as you may have figured out comes from Anubis along with bis standing for "best in slot" in other RPG games some players may recognize. Although we'll do our best to keep our creatures well balanced, you're going to want a Xolobis in your party at higher levels as you'll get speed, agility and high damage output with this creature! While they may not have a lot of defense and HP, they'll definitely make up for it with bites and scratches that can cause bleed damage to enemy creatures even after they've left the battle!
Lastly for real this time, the proposed zing distribution changes after reflecting on the suggestions in our previous post and considering community input, thank you to everyone who participated in the discussion!

From the discussions it became clear that many in the community wanted higher Liquidity Provider rewards, this would mean more volume in the Liquidity pool making the token less volatile from bigger trades occurring as we'd prepare for players potentially coming into the ecosystem from the outside in the near future. At the same time we'll be lowering staking rewards seeing how for the majority of time the staked amount of zing has been close to 90%, while we appreciate long term hodlers and they may continue doing the same, we'll lower the rewards there slightly in favor of Liquidity Provider rewards. That said please do your research and due diligence when entering Liquidity provider pools as there's different kind of risks involved there.
The distribution for achievements is temporarily lowered and we plan on increasing it further once the game is in beta and have a ton of achievements waiting for players to earn as they start playing the game. Keep in mind that achievement weights may be off at this time but we'll be adjusting them to accommodate the correct weight for the harder achievements which are currently Contributor and Referral.
Collection Rewards are also prone to be adjusted further based on vial sales and of course, once the vials can be opened and the game is playable in the beta where all creatures and items will have their own weight to decide how much pull you have on that distribution.

I just realized that Drazing doesn't have an evolved form. I wonder why.

This skill sounds interesting because Xolobis' attack seems to have a prolonged effect. I want this creature! :D
Drazing is the base evolution normal type creature, it's evolved form is one of the 5 special type dragons. Most players will encounter Drazing, then capture it and level it up and at a certain level range you can allow it to evolve into one of the 5 special type creatures: Verdion, Tiderion, Terrarion, Glacion or Emberion, however you won't be able to decide which one it evolves into. At higher healer and creature levels players will also be able to encounter the evolved form of Drazing as well but not the last evolution as that's meant for end-game. I.e. a Drazing that evolved into Emberion at say level 15 may evolve into Emberox at lvl 30 but you won't be able to encounter wild Emerbox to capture at that evolution, most wild creatures will be capped at lvl 29.
So Drazing evolves into 5 different types at random, no normal type evolution for it, then they evolve further based on their type.
Got it. I think that Drazing is an interesting creature with those mechanics because it's not as straightforward as the other non-dragon creatures.
Does this mean that there will be tiers for the players? Meaning, that low-level players won't be able to meet/encounter/battle high-level players?
They can battle whoever they want if the other player accepts the challenge, but in terms of leaderboard PVP we will have many different tiers, yes.
Some that are planned for now are level brackets, first one would be max lvl 10 so a healer that's level 11 and creatures in the party that are lvl 11 cannot participate in that bracket but creatures and healers from lvl 1-10 can. This would then mean 2 additional brackets for lvl 11-20 and 21-30.
Furthermore we are also planning rarity brackets along with levels, for instance in a rarity bracket you'd have to have a healer that's max lvl 10 along with creatures but at the same time no creature can be of a higher rarity than green along with no healer item can be of a higher rarity than green.
We think we will see people wanting to play in multiple brackets on a weekly basis, rewards will be distributed a bit based on difficulty to obtain such rarities and levels, i.e. lvl 10 brackets may get x% less rewards than lvl 11-20 and lvl 21-30 as well as the rarity restricted ones will also get lower rewards compared to the higher ones but keep in mind that there's no restriction on the low end, i.e. you can go and compete in the lvl 21-30 bracket with lvl 18 green rarity creatures and items just be aware that you may face higher level and rarity trainers that'll most likely have an easy time against you. So the restrictions will just apply on those with higher rarities and levels not to be able to compete in lower brackets.
This gives room to casual players who don't want to bother leveling up their creatures the hard way to still enjoy some PvP and zing rewards even if their creatures remain at the lower spectrum of rarity while keeping things competitive.
Another thing that's cool about this is that we will also allow players to cap their XP progression if they so choose, this would allow them to go out and fight creatures in PvE without increasing their level as a healer and creatures in party in case they want to stay in that bracket or keep a certain healer and creatures there. At the same time allow them to continue to play with them to obtain more holo dust and other materials required to craft items for their specific levels, for instance to attempt and get better healer items and creatures to improve their stats in that specific lvl bracket.
This means that we could see players having multiple healers and creatures all active on a weekly basis competing in different brackets for different rewards while trying to maximize their gear and creatures at those specific levels to maintain a good ranking.

Congrats to the winner of the naming contest!! Also the new creature looks amazing. Main thing I love is how every monster starts of by being the cutest friend ever and already after one evolve they all look beasts that can do a lot of harm if not taken seriously. And for last but not least great changes to the zing distribution, exactly what I was waiting for as I just recently pumped my vial count to clean and round 10!!
So exited for the game release down the line, and I really do hope it comes out amazing, especially because we are on the edge of a bull run so people need a reason to join and grow this community to something we all are proud of!!!
Wow I wasn't expecting any new character reveals🤩. This was quite a surprise and the naming based on Egyptian gods suits really well to that character because of the gold based colour palette.

Yes for now it's only vials based on amount, soon after it'll be about items and creatures with closed vials only receiving a portion of the 200k, then after beta it'll include captured creatures and crafted items as well all with their own weights based on rarities.

okay, the name and new creature and stuff are all great and things... all i want to know is who are going to be these early testers? can anyone be in that list?
Unfortunately not anyone this early in the alpha phase, we've been contacting some and creating a list, we want testers who have experience with such games, some game design experience as well along with balancing. At the same time we also want to invite those we know will be active and contributing and have a vested interest in the project based on holdings/stake and reputation on hive so we can trust they won't leak things too early or want to hurt the project in some other ways.

Hmmm hopefully it won't be problematic that there's a Pokemon already named Glacion from the Eevee evolution chain, seems wayy too close for comfort imo since its already a similar evo chain replica, at least its a dragon though and doesn't look alike! Everything else looks fantastic <3
Highly doubt that's an issue, in terms of trademark only very few creatures/names are from what I researched, some resemblances here and there are close to impossible to prevent. Like this one for instance I wasn't aware existed as I kinda stopped being involved with the games after gen 2.
Sweet as long as you don't think it'll be an issue trademark wise, then I have no qualms 😊 & yeah, definitely impossible to not have any resemblances across the board as they've used up all the world's creatures at this point they're now making Pokemon out of completely inanimate objects running out of ideas lmao

I think the distribution changes make sense. It's important to have a deep liquidity pool ready when people start playing the game.
On the other hand, it would make things faster with an option not to auto-stake collection rewards - that way Zing earned could be immediately routed to a liquidity pool instead of waiting 4 weeks for unstaking.

Amazing creatures, I love dragons, if given the chance to name them I can't help but get excited. It's like naming the best pet in the world.
These dragons have amazing designs, they blow my mind.
Verdion and Verdarox seem to be dragons that have pink seaweed like Rhodophyta, so I would call them Algara and Algarhadox.
Tiderion and Tiderox for having some resemblance with the mythical Loch Ness Monster, I will call them Vyssi and Nessiely.
Terrarion and Terraox seem to be very familiar with earth and rocks, so Taurre and Rhyurre might be a good choice.
Emberion and Emberox are my favorites, I called them Dablaze and Zalablaze.
Glacion and Glaciox have a very remarkable change in their evolution, that's why I called them Rambane and Yinfrost
