Glimmo in Semi Watercolor. Digital Art. FanArt.

Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa!

I really like experimenting with brushes, I'm doing a kind of "therapy" to accept the use of textures and views beyond the solid ones. And well, I don't know if it happens to others, but I love seeing illustrations from other artists with textures, but when I do them I feel "strange" and end up disappointed by the result. However, lately I've been playing with Watercolor, I love the finish it has, both traditional and digital. This time I made a FanArt of Glimmo, one of the most recent creatures officially released from the World of Holozing.

I initially thought about practicing semi-watercolor with Cinelara because I've been practicing with red tones (coloring strawberries), however I found Glimmo more striking. Because it is a very striking creature, it reminded me of a mix of Charmander for its color palette, but also of Squirtle for its physical appearance. I love that.

I tell you that it was something quite fun, going beyond what we are naturally used to doing and changing things to a more fluid opportunity, many times it is rewarding and allows us to discover that we are not as terrible as we imagine 🤣.

Let's quickly see Drawing process:

I debated whether to do the outline or not, or maybe do it and then just skip it. But I decided to go with a heavy crayon, so it's outlined but not as marked as I would usually do with ink. I feel insecure about doing something without a sketch or outline, I haven't sat in that chair yet. So I started with a quick sketch, as a reference I used the original Holozing art. Later I moved on to a more defined outline. Once this was finished, I moved on to the colors, using the original palette as a reference. In this phase I used brushes like: Watercolor and blending. Finally I added highlights using lighter and whiter colors, as well as using the eraser to clean certain areas. To clean I used the eraser, but graduating the opacity in certain areas, as well as making it take the form of watercolor.

For the background, I had some doubts, what I imagined most was rocks, but then I wanted to make it a boulder type, quite alone. Imagining that they were Glimmo is a solitary and thoughtful creature. Later I drew a sky, starry with a fairly clear moon offering an illuminated night scene for our little one.

This is a very cute creature. Nice work.

Thank you so much!

glimmo shares this inspired animal with amazing skills in digital art. Each step is smoothly arranged and drawn. At the same time, the shape of its eyes is great as if it is able to look far away.

Thank you very much, I always try to export the step by step in a timely manner. Sometimes I get very excited and I skip it, haha. But then I go back and take them. Thank you very much for your appreciation, it's so nice!

Happy Holo Day!

yes you are right many thanks for your kind word
