Hey, Hey, here's the @lacochinaensalsa!
Today I took some time to rest. Lately I had been falling asleep in the early morning, because I had a lot of work and business to do... But today, Saturday, the eve of my birthday, I preferred to draw in the afternoon. Even though I wanted some peace, a lot of people came to my house, some asking for some things to do and others family members. I drew, they talked to me and sometimes they get upset because I don't answer. I try to concentrate on what I do, so I don't make mistakes and the process flows smoothly. For this occasion I made a FanArt of the Healer of Light with Fal.
Fal is really cute, I loved it. He looks like a little feathery ball, with charming green eyes. For the illustration I had the usual problem, the backgrounds. Haha, this was the most decent one I could do. Despite that, I really liked the result. It's pretty cute, as neat as possible because I dedicated myself to providing every possible detail to achieve harmony in the set of strokes. I love solid shadows, as well as putting lots of stripes on the character.
Let's quickly see Drawing process:
I started with a quick sketch. Then I outlined it, which I did in two phases. The first was to give more shape to the general lines and after they were established, I moved on to a stage of detail and solid shadows. This outlining phase is the one that took me the longest, due to the amount of detail and until I reached a point of satisfaction with the sketch, I did not move on to the next phase.
Sketch and outline:
Base coloring:
For the base coloring, I usually use the paint bucket. It's fast and uniform. I put each color on a different layer, and then in the next phase I use clipping mask.
Details, Shadows and lights
In this phase I always start giving details to the eyes. I realized that I made a mistake, something didn't fit and my mind couldn't figure out what was going on. Haha. Oh, thank goodness there is the lasso tool. I cut and fixed the mistake. I painted the eyes using 3 variant colors in yellow: dark, medium and light. Then I blended and placed some more details like the dark part and the highlights. For some areas I used a soft airbrush and a little bit of blurring.
