👋
I haven't done a holozing fanart in a while so I felt inspired again and this time I wanted to draw something water themed. The female ocean healer is one of my favourite cards, she's such a beautiful sight and I just wish I could draw her all the time. Drawing water can be simple, fun and frustrating depending on your mood, experience level or how complex and detailed you want it to be.
I already have a similar sketch in my sketchbook but it didn't match the idea perfectly so I did another sketch and changed some things like her hair and other little details. I painted her skin and hair first before adding facial features and added her neck piece. I added more volume to her hair with a soft brush, I used to be very scared of painting with the soft brush because it makes my work muddy but I found a way around it so we're good friends now🫂
For the rendering, I first used a soft brush to add shadows to different areas of her skin and it looked meh and muddy😐 I then went in with a sightly hard brush to add harsh lines to make it look better. This is a technique I learned from a artist, rossdraws and I love it. After painting her skin, I began to add more details, bigger and smaller strands to her hair. I painted her neckpiece with the shells, stars and other beads in there...
I started working on the background and painted some light waves and fishes. I love adding bubbles when I paint water so I did that and also added some to her face.
This is the final work and I really love the final outcome and I hope you love it too. Have a very amazing Sunday....
