For this piece, I decided to take inspiration from traditional Japanese aesthetics, blending elements of history and culture with the essence of the original character. Female Forest Healer has always fascinated me with her connection to nature and her soothing presence, so I wanted to capture her in a setting that exudes serenity and grace. The idea of healers in ancient Japan intrigued me, and thus, I embarked on creating a collection of healers influenced by traditional Japanese fashion and atmosphere.
As I worked on this piece, I felt an immense sense of calm and appreciation for the character’s essence. I wanted her to embody wisdom, kindness, and the tranquil energy of a healer who harmonizes with nature. Every detail, from her outfit to her accessories, was carefully chosen to enhance this theme.

Para esta pieza, decidí inspirarme en la estética tradicional japonesa, fusionando elementos históricos y culturales con la esencia del personaje original. Siempre me ha fascinado la conexión de Female Forest Healer con la naturaleza y su aura tranquilizadora, así que quise plasmarla en un entorno que transmitiera serenidad y gracia. Me intrigó la idea de los sanadores en el Japón antiguo, y así nació la idea de crear una colección de personajes curanderos con esta inspiración.
Mientras trabajaba en esta obra, sentí una profunda calma y un gran aprecio por la esencia del personaje. Quería que transmitiera sabiduría, bondad y esa energía tranquila de quien sana en armonía con la naturaleza. Cada detalle, desde su vestimenta hasta sus accesorios, fue elegido cuidadosamente para reforzar esta temática.

Process / Proceso
Everything started with a sketch, where I focused on shaping her pose and expression. I wanted her to appear composed yet approachable, so I carefully designed her gentle smile and relaxed posture. The folds of her kimono were outlined to ensure they followed the natural flow of the fabric, adding realism to her outfit.
Once the sketch was solid, I moved on to the linework, making the contours cleaner and refining the details. This step was crucial in defining the intricacies of her hair, the floral designs on her kimono, and the fan she delicately holds.
Coloring was a delightful phase, as I played with warm and earthy tones to enhance the connection to nature. The green shades of her hair and clothing were blended harmoniously, while the orange accents of her obi and flowers provided contrast and vibrancy.
To bring depth and volume, I applied shadows carefully, emphasizing the folds of the kimono and the natural curves of her face and hands. Soft shading on her skin and delicate highlights on her eyes made her expression even more captivating.
Adding highlights was essential to give the illustration a luminous effect. The golden lighting around her, as well as the subtle glow on her hair and accessories, created a magical and warm atmosphere.
Finally, the background tied everything together. The golden tones, bamboo silhouettes, and soft light diffusion gave the entire piece an enchanting feel, transporting the viewer to a tranquil, almost otherworldly moment.
Todo comenzó con un boceto, donde me enfoqué en dar forma a su pose y expresión. Quería que se viera serena pero accesible, así que trabajé con cuidado en su sonrisa y postura relajada. También delineé los pliegues de su kimono para asegurarme de que fluyeran de manera natural, aportando realismo a su vestimenta.
Con el boceto listo, pasé al delineado, limpiando los contornos y refinando los detalles. Esta fase fue clave para definir la complejidad de su cabello, los diseños florales del kimono y el abanico que sostiene con elegancia.
La fase del color fue una de mis favoritas, ya que jugué con tonos cálidos y terrosos para reforzar su conexión con la naturaleza. Los matices verdes de su cabello y atuendo se mezclaron armoniosamente, mientras que los acentos naranjas de su obi y flores agregaron contraste y vitalidad.
Para dar profundidad y volumen, apliqué sombras con cuidado, resaltando los pliegues del kimono y las formas naturales de su rostro y manos. Un sombreado suave en la piel y reflejos sutiles en sus ojos hicieron que su expresión cobrara más vida.
Los brillos fueron esenciales para darle un efecto de luminosidad a la ilustración. La iluminación dorada a su alrededor, junto con el leve resplandor en su cabello y accesorios, crearon una atmósfera mágica y acogedora.
Finalmente, el fondo unió todos los elementos. Los tonos dorados, las siluetas de bambú y la suave difusión de luz le dieron a la obra un aire encantador, transportando al espectador a un momento de paz casi etéreo.

Creating this artwork was an incredible experience. I loved blending anime aesthetics with traditional Japanese influences, and I hope this piece conveys the serenity and grace of Female Forest Healer.
