Hey guys! How’s it going? How have you all been these past few days? I kinda disappeared for a bit ‘cause I’ve been busy, but I always find a little time to work on something for my dear home!
This time, I wanted to do… hmm, not exactly a fusion, more like a duo. So, I picked the Ocean healer and a super cute little penguin named Zingu 😘🥰!
With these two, I created this piece, blending a bit of both their essences. I wanted a chilly vibe, so she’s got a coat to keep warm—she's not exactly in the ocean, but still connected to water, ‘cause, y’know, ice is water 💦 🌊 ❄️🤭🤭🤭
I worked on a single layer, as I usually do—it just feels easier. Though at first, I made a sketch layer and worked under it, then erased it later, but meh, small details. I also didn’t use grayscale this time ‘cause it felt a bit tricky (I’ll explain that later). I jumped straight into colors and tried a slightly different style from my usual work.
Hope you like this icy duo! I left some process pics below. Had to edit them on my phone ‘cause, of course, the stupid power went out. So if there’s a mistake, my bad!

I started with a sketch since this piece was a bit trickier than usual. I needed to plan out some elements before jumping into the final drawing, so I made a quick rough sketch first.
Once I had the idea down, I moved on to basic colors—nothing fancy, just flat colors for now. I actually used a super simple, hard round brush. Nothing special, really. Here’s an example.
First thing I tackled was the skin—I just wanted to get it out of the way. So, I detailed it a bit, adding some shadows. At this point, I also started adding more color variation to give things more depth (like the penguin, the clothing, etc.), but nothing too detailed yet. I mainly wanted to finish the girl’s skin before focusing on the rest. Also, I removed the lineart ‘cause it was kinda bothering me.
As I kept going, I refined things that needed more work and added details. By now, the skin was basically done, just needed some final touches. I also adjusted the penguin, adding the little golden thing on its head and placing the beak where it should go (it was still missing details, though). But yeah, at this stage, there was way more progress and way less left to do.
At this point, it was all about final tweaks and polishing what was already there. Things were looking good, so I was happy with it! Oh, and here’s a little example of the brush I mentioned earlier. It was just a simple hard round brush. I also used the smudge tool to blend some areas, even though I didn’t use an actual soft brush. I also used another brush with a bit of texture—it’s my go-to.😍😘🥰😍
For this piece, I wanted a more flat look. Idk if that makes sense, but I was kinda aiming for that anime-style shading with sharp shadows. It’s not really my strong suit, so this was a bit of an experiment.
I actually use my Holozing fanart pieces as practice for studies like this!

Final Touches at the end, I just added some final details and adjustments. I usually tweak the colors at the very end, though sometimes I do it earlier. Also, I gave her power a little extra touch by adding the Ocean Healer’s symbol—just a small detail!
And that’s it! Hope you like it!

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.

I loved the composition.
The illustration is so amazing, I love it.
They look dope together, cute colours
