Hey guys! So today I wanna share a super special fan art where I decided to merge two characters I love: Shinaara and Ocean Healer. From the start, the idea of blending their styles and energies felt like such a cool challenge. I wanted to capture their mystical and powerful essence in one piece,
I love how these characters give off a sense of calm, but at the same time, they have this incredible strength. Shinaara has that mysterious vibe that contrasts perfectly with Ocean Healer’s fluid and healing essence. So in this fan art, my goal was to balance both personalities and make the fusion feel natural.
During the process, I played around with grayscale before adding color ‘cause I really wanted to focus on the details and give them the depth they deserve. And well, after a bunch of layers and tweaks, I ended up with a piece I’m super happy with!
1️⃣ Initial Sketch
Just laying down the first lines to get a rough idea of what I wanted—basically mixing both characters into one.
2️⃣ Refining the sketch
I had to refine the concept a bit more. This time, I wanted to work in grayscale first, adding all the details before moving on to color. But for that, I still needed to refine and define things further.
3️⃣ Defining
It was starting to look better! As always, I worked on a single layer and used the same brush. Those strokes you see? I love their texture. To soften them a bit, I used the "smudge" tool.

After tons of detailing, I was finally happy with how it was coming along. Time to move forward and bring in some color!
5️⃣ Time to move forward
On a new layer above the one I had so far, I set it to "overlay" mode to lay down the base colors. I carefully picked each shade and placed them on the character. It was looking good, though I knew it still felt a bit flat—but nothing that couldn't be fixed!
6️⃣Final Touches
Now it was time to add shadows, highlights, and refine the colors and depth. Not gonna lie, I was pretty happy with how it was turning out! Still, I knew some areas needed more refinement because just slapping colors on overlay wasn’t quite enough.
After a few final touches, here’s the finished piece! I’m really happy with how the mix of Shinaara and the Ocean Healer turned out. Hope you like it!

Ahhh another divine piece from you 🥹🥹 I really should try working on going grayscale then doing full color one of these days cuz mixing the right colors does take up so much time. you make it look so effortless with that approach

She's seriously so gorgeous. Just like a character in a fantasy movie with an amazing powers. My favorite part was the hair, as well as the seashells like crown. Even the ruffles style in her dress looks real. I love it!
