Tonight, I wanna show you a new portrait I made, inspired by the Ocean Healer from @Holozing. If I’m not wrong, I don’t usually do portraits this up close, but I’m still experimenting with some stuff in Corel.
I didn’t record a video for this drawing, and honestly, for most of the things I’m working on (outside of my Hive posts, which I’ll show you at some point in the future for sure!), I haven’t been making videos either. Every time there’s a power outage, I lose part of the recording, and it’s just frustrating 🤣😱🤣.
I’ve dropped a couple of images so you can see the process of this portrait. It didn’t take me too long to make.

Initial Sketch
Just a few blobs to get an idea of the portrait’s position—nothing too defined yet, but this is the starting point.
Defining the Silhouette
Adding some volume and defining certain areas like the neck, where the eyes will go, and the hair. Still keeping things loose.
Details
As I progressed, I made some small changes and improvements to the portrait. I added a bit of light and tweaked the hair color, using the character as a reference.
Some Touches
Alright, now we’re getting somewhere 😆. Time to actually shape the face! I just added some brushstrokes here and there to define things a bit more, without focusing too much on tiny details.
Defining
I love this hairstyle lol 🤣. It reminds me of one of those vampire movies—there was a girl with a similar hairstyle, and I’ve loved it ever since 😄😆. I also worked on the eyes and made some other small tweaks.

There were still a few things to do, but by this point, it was already looking like a portrait. Just needed some final touches. To wrap it up, I made some last adjustments—added highlights, tweaked the colors, and refined a few little details.
I love the result, it looks like a painting on a physical canvas.😍
