Body Keeps The Score Workbook

The other day I mentioned a book my therapist recommended to me titled "The Body Keeps the Score". I managed to order it and received it over the weekend. I also ordered a Workbook that was published to go along with it.

Purusing through the book, it seems to be a lot of stuff that may be over my head and more directed for mentla health professionals. Which leads me to question why the therapist would recommend it to a patient.

The Workbook on the otherhand seems to be geared toward the layman. The Workbook doesn;t even require you to read the actual book to get a benefit. At least that is what the preface states.

I just finished reading chapter one, and plan to run through exercise at the end and make it a post. If all works out, and it feels right, I may continue to do this throughout the workbook.

The fact that something so personal would be put out here for all to see and read is a little scary, but I think it is important for me o continue my healing, both mentally and physically. It is also necessary for my continued growth as a person.

Should I just keep this between me and the therapist? Maybe. But I am not sure she has the time to allow me to fully develop my thoughts like i can while writing. It also doesn;t allow me to get feedback from others who may be experience similar challenges.

Could it help someone else as well? It may, but I am not sure. Most have experiences some type of Trauma, but have dealt with it in just as many ways as there are people who have experienced it. My way of coping, may not work for anyone else.

Anyway, I do hope this works out and plan to have the first post out in the next day or two.
