Hello everyone, excited to be here as this is my very first post on the PEAKD community and also on a topic that i'm currently so eagered to learn more.
Investing both money and time in this experience has led me to believe that the future of regular gaming as we know is deeply endangered with the development of blockchain games.
The play2earn aspect keeps the hardcore gamer engaged, aswell as it peaks the curiosity of casual gamers. Depending on the traditional game, you can argue that players could make money in some sort of way, through RMT( Real Money Trading ), account selling or item selling. However, almost all of the tradicional games do not allow those kinds of activities and will regularly ban everyone that engages in it.
That's not the case in blockchain games, as it is not only accepted, but encouraged. Players can sell and trade pretty much everything they own: lands, monsters, weapons, characters, costumes, etc... You can shape your experience any way you want!
Not only that, but everything you own isn't stored in the game server or somewhere where you don't have access to, instead you have them all stored safely in your wallet. Last but not least, projects have started to use these blockchain based items across multiple games, giving other purposes or experiences to the user. These features greatly improve the overall experience with the game, making it more tailored towards what you need, what you want.
The great thing about the blockchain gaming revolution, in my opinion, is that it's applicable to almost every game genre there is! from farm simulators to card games, everyone could benefit from the inovations that this integration brings. For me, it's safe to say that it's not a matter of if, but when. I strongly believe that the first MMO that successfuly launches on this scheme, will quickly outgrow and outpace the traditional ones, it's just a matter of time. These differences will be groundbreaking and in the long term, almost impossible to resist. Companies that are putting the effort to learn will be greatly rewarded in the future.
My most recent interaction and the one that i'll be showing today is the MyDefiPet game on the KardiaChain.

In this game, you can buy eggs with the DPET Token and hatch them into unique creatures, each with individual qualities and a silver per hour attribute. Put them in the a cage and start ganing silver. This silver isn't a token, just a coin from the game. After that, you can use this silver to grow crops and feed them to the monsters.

Initially, there isn't much to do. The play2earn aspect aswell as major features aren't out yet,
but it's a great opportunity to start to empower your monsters early! Not only that, but recently the developers announced a partnership with Faraland, an upcoming RPG War Game that's set to do amazing things!

MyDefiPet is a clear example of a game genre that isn't new to anyone, but with blockchain innovations and smart partnerships, can easily outgrow the existing competitors and create a new standard for the others to catch on.

i haven't looked into my defi pet so much, but it reminds me an app game called dragon city.
as any game out there, let's hope they make it awesome. i Wonder when FPS games really comeout in blockchain... it's gonna be awesome.

Yea I remember playing Dragon City years ago, good times.
Almost every game that existed in the past and had some sort of success, can find new things to implement in this new format. It's super exciting to both the player and the developers.
FPS Games could come in with NFTs for their items aswell as rewards on ranked matches, although the level of stress in those would drastically increase
