La película cubana "Fresa y Chocolate", dirigida por Tomás Gutiérrez Alea y Juan Carlos Tabío, ha dejado una huella imborrable en el cine latinoamericano y, especialmente, en mi vida, era además la película favorita de mi madre, asi que para mí es otro valor agregadoQuerida comunidad de #Holos-Lotus. Aceptando la invitación de @daddyvaldes vengo a hablarles de un film que fue demasiado importante y que marcó toda una generación en Cuba:
Estrenada en 1993, esta obra toca las complejidades de la amistad y la homosexualidad en el contexto cubano, y también se adentra en temas universales como la identidad, la aceptación y la lucha por los derechos humanos. Temas muy propicios para los momentos que vivimos. Ahora no tengo ya demasiado tiempo para ver películas pero a esta vuelvo cada vez que puedo porque desde el momento en que vi "Fresa y Chocolate", me sentí profundamente identificada con sus personajes, especialmente con Diego, un chico que representa la libertad de ser uno mismo en una sociedad que muchas veces juzga y condena. Como mujer cubana, he vivido en una época de grandes cambios sociales y políticos en nuestra isla, la búsqueda de la aceptación, ya sea de la identidad sexual o de ideologías distintas, ha sido y es un camino lleno de obstáculos. Cada vez que la veo vuelvo a reflexionar sobre mis propias experiencias y me inspira a valorar la importancia de la amistad sincera, sin importar las diferencias.
En ella vi como la amistad florece en medio de las tensiones políticas y sociales de la Cuba de los años 80, tiempos duros como todos pero con sus características especiales. Eso resalto en esta película, lo real de la trama. Éste filme me recordó que, a pesar de las diferencias, es posible encontrar puntos en común y construir puentes de comprensión. Como mujer de seis décadas, he sido testigo de momentos en los que la empatía y la solidaridad han sido cruciales para superar divisiones y encontrar un sentido de comunidad, lo he visto enncentros de trabajo, grupos de amigos o familia.
La película me enseñó que aceptar y abrazar nuestras diferencias enriquece nuestras vidas y nos hace más fuertes.
"Fresa y Chocolate" ofrece una crítica al sistema político cubano de manera sutil pero poderosa y eso me sigue encantando. Este enfoque me ha motivado a ser una ciudadana más activa, a cuestionar las normas y a abogar por un cambio positivo en mi entorno. La valentía de Diego al desafiar las normativas sociales me resonó profundamente y me impulsó a defender mis propias creencias y valores, a no conformarme con una vida que no refleja quién soy realmente. En un país donde el miedo a la represión es paralizante, la película vino a recordarme la importancia de levantarse y ser la voz de aquellos que no tienen.
También me inspiró a compartir mi historia y la de otras mujeres cubanas que han luchado por sus derechos y su libertad.
Vamos que si estoy compartiendo esto así con toda libertad se lo debo a esa primera semilla que recibí en este filme.
La visibilidad que ofrece la película es clave para entender las luchas que enfrentamos. Al contar nuestras experiencias, empoderamos a las nuevas generaciones de cubanas a que no tengan miedo de ser quienes son, a que se unan en la búsqueda de aceptación y respeto. La película me ha enseñado que cada historia tiene el poder de cambiar la percepción de los demás y de dar esperanza a quienes se sienten solos en su lucha.
"Fresa y Chocolate" ha sido una fuente de inspiración y reflexión en mi vida. Está recomendada ya saben a mi me ha motivado a ser valiente, a cultivar amistades basadas en la aceptación y a luchar por un mundo más inclusivo. Invito a otros a ver esta película no solo como una obra de arte, sino como un poderoso llamado a la empatía y a la transformación social.
