Hay dos momentos maravillosos cuando descubres una gran canción.
El primero, al escucharla. El segundo, cuando la compartes con alguien y esa persona siente lo mismo que tú.
¡Menuda sorpresa!

Hace poco encontré en una publicación de @thereadingman, que recomendaba "Human", de Lenni Kravitz.
Para qué sirve esta vida? Voy a vencer.
Voy a vivir mi verdad en esta vida
No voy a vivir una mentira
Porque vine aquí para estar vivo
Estoy aquí para ser humano
¿Simple orgullo sin fundamento? De primera impresión puede parecerlo, pero si meditas en que ser un humano, vivir humanamente, se torna cada día más difícil, por causa precisamente del miedo y las mentiras que nos rodean a diario, entonces no parecen tan simples los versos de esta letra.
Hace poco escuché que los jóvenes cubanos entre 14 y 20 años no tienen dirección ni motivación; que la gran mayoría desea abandonar el país, porque ya no se creen (o no les interesa), la gran mentira que atrofia y roba sus sueños e impulsos juveniles.
¿No han hallado un nicho? Es evidente. Cada individuo debe encontrar su camino. No importa el absolutismo ni la falsa camaradería. En esta época de descentralización de poder, donde no existen asideros porque los líderes políticos nos mienten sin ambages, las alternativas como Hive, constituyen el verdadero camino. ¿Por qué? Porque se puede cumplir ese ideal humano: ser individuo y colmena al mismo tiempo, sin contradicción. ¿Lleva esfuerzo? Todo lo importante lleva esfuerzo y energía. Canta Lenni Kravitz:
Estoy en movimiento y voy a esforzarme.
Nadie es perfecto y no me avergonzaré
Mi cuerpo ansía una transformación.
Encontrar una celda, un conjunto de celdas y llenarlas de miel. He ahí la cuestión. Sin mirar hacia atrás, sin temer a los errores ni a la imagen que estos pudiera acarrear. Comenzar otra vez. No avergonzarse...
Si conseguimos habituarnos a estos pensamientos y comportamientos, podremos entonces corear junto a Kravitz "estoy listo para volar". "Voy a mantener mi cabeza en dirección al cielo". Y sobre todo, voy a encontrarme a mí mismo. Es el énfasis que logra este gran artista, cuando su tremenda voz pronuncia conmovedoramente: "Yo soy". "Voy a vivir mi verdad"

The lyrics say almost at the beginning:There are two wonderful moments when you discover a great song. The first, when you listen to it. The second, when you share it with someone and that person feels the same as you. I recently found a post by @thereadingman, who recommended "Human" by Lenni Kravitz. What a surprise!

Simple pride without foundation? At first glance it may seem so, but if you think about how being a human, living humanely, becomes more difficult every day, precisely because of the fear and lies that surround us every day, then the first verses of this song do not seem so simple.
I recently heard that young Cubans between 14 and 20 years old have no direction or motivation; that the great majority want to leave the country, because they no longer believe (or are not interested) in the great lie that atrophies and steals their dreams and youthful impulses. Have they not found a niche? It is obvious. Each individual must find his or her way. Absolutism and false camaraderie do not matter. In this era of decentralization of power, where there are no footholds because political leaders lie to us openly, alternatives like Hive constitute the true path. Why? Because this human ideal can be fulfilled: to be an individual and a hive at the same time, without contradiction. Does it take effort? Everything important takes effort and energy. Kravitz sings:
I'm on the move and I shall endeavor
No one is perfect and I won't be ashamed
My body's yearning for transformation
Finding a cell, a set of cells, and filling them with honey. That's the point. Without looking back, without fearing mistakes or the image they might bring. Starting over. Not being ashamed... If we can get used to these thoughts and behaviors, we can then sing along with Kravitz: "I'm ready to take flight", "I'm gonna keep my head to the sky." And above all, I'm going to find myself. This is the emphasis that this great artist achieves, when his tremendous voice poignantly pronounces: "I am." "I'm going to live my truth."

Hey there, I’m glad you liked that song by Lenny, and thanks for the mention. You can’t imagine how frustrating it is to see people who cannot function anymore if they don’t have a cell phone, the TV on, or some kind of device near them. Every day I go to the window and see people walking like zombies, instead of minding where they’re going, they’re watching their stupid phones. We cannot let that happen to us. I like technology, it makes life comfortable, but we cannot let it take the best of us. That’s what Lenny’s song is about (I think). Check on YT for the Men’s Health video where Lenny unwinds and lives a simple life at his property in the Bahamas. Thanks again, and keep yourself human.
