Me he encontrado con una hermosa iniciativa que realmente me llegó y calzó perfecto con mi día. Hoy no fue un buen día, tuve una discusión bastante incómoda, pero no voy a entrar en detalles. Simplemente diré que gracias a la iniciativa de @lilianajimenez Encontrando bienestar a través de la música, me puse a bailar al ritmo de mis melodías favoritas. Siempre escucho música, pero la mayoría de las veces lo hago con audífonos. Sin embargo, hoy decidí poner la música sin ellos y me dejé llevar por las notas de dos piezas que me provocan emociones muy distintas: el segundo movimiento de la Suite Orquestal n.º 3 en re mayor (BWV 1068) de Johann Sebastian Bach, conocido como Air, en la versión de David Garrett en violín, y la poderosa "Love Kills" de Freddie Mercury, una canción que me llena de energía.
I came across a beautiful initiative that really touched me and fit perfectly with my day. Today wasn’t a good day; I had a rather uncomfortable argument, but I won’t go into details. I’ll simply say that thanks to the initiative of @lilianajimenez Finding Well-Being Through Music, I started dancing to the rhythm of my favorite melodies. I always listen to music, but most of the time, I do so with headphones. However, today I decided to play the music without them and let myself be carried away by the notes of two pieces that provoke very different emotions in me: the second movement of Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major (BWV 1068) by Johann Sebastian Bach, known as Air, in the version by David Garrett on violin, and the powerful "Love Kills" by Freddie Mercury, a song that fills me with energy.
El Segundo Movimiento de Bach: "Air"
El primer tema que quiero compartir es el famoso segundo movimiento de la Suite Orquestal n.º 3 en re mayor de Bach, comúnmente conocido como Air. La versión que más me gusta es la de David Garrett en violín. Esta interpretación tiene una delicadeza única, con una combinación de suavidad y fuerza que parece fluir en el aire, como si pudiera transportarme a otro lugar. Cuando escucho esta pieza, inmediatamente siento que me envuelve en una calma profunda, como si el tiempo se detuviera por un momento. The first piece I want to share is the famous second movement of Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major by Bach, commonly known as Air. The version I like the most is by David Garrett on violin. This interpretation has a unique delicacy, with a blend of softness and strength that seems to float in the air, as if it could transport me to another place. When I listen to this piece, I immediately feel that I am enveloped in a deep calm, as if time stopped for a moment. It’s a feeling of total peace, of being suspended in the air, light, without worries.
David Garrett’s violin playing takes this piece to a completely different level. Each note resonates in my body, and I can feel the tensions and stress of the day dissipating. I feel relaxed, floating, as if I were being rocked by the melody itself. This piece, despite its calmness, has an emotional depth that moves me. It’s as if every chord speaks directly to me, reminding me that everything happening is temporary, and that there is beauty in serenity.
Hace poco, descubrí esta pieza interpretada en clavecín, y fue como redescubrirla de una forma completamente nueva. El clavecín es un instrumento precioso, con un sonido increíble que realmente transporta a los tiempos del Barroco, a esa época antigua que tanto me fascina. Recently, I discovered this piece performed on the harpsichord, and it was like rediscovering it in a completely new way. The harpsichord is a beautiful instrument, with an incredible sound that truly transports you to the Baroque era, to that ancient time that fascinates me so much. The harpsichord version made me feel even more connected to the original essence of Bach’s music. It’s such an elegant and captivating melody that I can’t help but let myself be carried away by its magic.
"Love Kills" de Freddie Mercury
Después de sumergirme en la calma de Bach, necesitaba algo que me diera energía, y entonces, "Love Kills" de Freddie Mercury se convirtió en la pieza perfecta. Esta canción tiene una fuerza que me impulsa a moverme, a liberarme de cualquier carga emocional que me haya quedado. Desde el primer acorde, la poderosa voz de Freddie, combinada con la intensidad de la música, me llena de vitalidad y de una energía que necesitaba. Es un contraste tan marcado con la serenidad de Bach, pero es un contraste que me equilibra.

After immersing myself in the calm of Bach, I needed something that would give me energy, and then, "Love Kills" by Freddie Mercury became the perfect piece. This song has a power that drives me to move, to free myself from any emotional weight that might still be lingering. From the first chord, Freddie’s powerful voice, combined with the intensity of the music, fills me with vitality and energy that I needed. It’s such a stark contrast to the serenity of Bach, but it’s a contrast that balances me.
"Love Kills" is one of the most iconic songs by Freddie Mercury as a solo artist. Unlike his work with Queen, where the band has a unique energy, this song has a completely different atmosphere, but equally powerful. I love Freddie as a singer; his talent is unparalleled. Although Queen made a later version of this song after Freddie’s death, with strange mixes and sounds that don’t convince me, I always prefer the original version, the one Freddie made as a solo artist. That’s the one that truly conveys his soul and unique strength, and I love how every note resonates with so much passion and energy.
Dancing to this song is like freeing myself from any weight. My body fills with movement, and my mind with optimism. The song not only gives me energy but also confidence. I feel powerful, as if nothing could stop me. Freddie’s music has that transformative power, that ability to bring out the best in oneself.
Both pieces, although so different, allow me to connect with my well-being in unique ways. Bach gives me the peace and serenity I need in moments of anxiety, while Freddie reminds me of the importance of energy and vitality. Music has a special way of adapting to what we need at any given moment, and today, more than ever, I realize its power.
In fact, I’ve come to an important realization: people who love music really do have a different way of seeing the world. I’ve met people who don’t listen to music, and honestly, they are very bitter people. Music has the ability to transform our mood, to lift us up or calm us down. It’s a gift we should always cherish.
Today, thanks to music, I was able to transform a bad day into an experience full of well-being. And for that, I’m deeply grateful to be able to enjoy these special melodies.
