La humanidad ha pasado por épocas muy oscuras, está la larga noche que trajo la Edad Media, donde dominaba la superstición religiosa. Ni siquiera es necesario recordar la famosa condena de Galileo por su brillante propuesta que confirma la de Copérnico: La Tierra gira alrededor del Sol, y entonces el padre Vincenzo Maculano da Firenzuola (un hermoso nombre para un hombre tan malo) lo cuestionó y condenó.
La Iglesia tardó más de 300 años en justificarse de forma ridÃcula y bastante extraña y admitir a regañadientes que la Tierra gira alrededor del Sol.
Lo cierto es que el ser humano siempre ha luchado contra la oscuridad fÃsica e intelectual, al fin y al cabo es asà como evolucionamos como especie y todavÃa existe un miedo infantil a ella. El descubrimiento del fuego es un ejemplo elocuente de esta lucha, precedida y seguida de experimentos, aunque primitivos, que convencieron a nuestros antepasados de que habÃa mucho más por descubrir. Debemos muchos avances a quienes se atrevieron a defender sus ideas de forma racional, a quienes aceptaron que no lo explicaban todo, que podÃan seguir siendo imperfectas, pero que podÃan mejorarse.
Esto ha dado lugar a innumerables teorÃas y, en los casos más exitosos, a leyes. Curiosamente, Newton descubrió la gravedad universal e inició la teorÃa de la luz dando paseos por la naturaleza en un momento en el que tuvo que abandonar sus estudios universitarios en Cambridge a causa de la peste bubónica, conocida como la Gran Peste (1665-1667), ya que esta crisis comenzó cuando la iglesia estaba ocupada cazando gatos negros, que básicamente luchaban contra las ratas que propagaban la peste, según ellos, en su campaña para erradicar el mal del mundo, lo cual es muy paradójico.
Ser racional es estar dispuesto a aprender, a cuestionar, a analizar y a resolver los enigmas o problemas que se presentan. La cuestión es por qué algunas personas deciden negarse esta oportunidad.
El problema no es principalmente que sean conscientes de su ignorancia, sino que, sin darse cuenta, creen que las explicaciones del mundo y de todas sus leyes son simplistas y se basan en las creencias, dogmas o ideas absurdas de otros. Aquà encontramos la fe, que es una creencia y esperanza personal de que existe un ser superior que te ayudará; otros dicen que es una virtud.
Porque la consecuencia es que te quitas miles de oportunidades en las que invertir tu energÃa. La religión y el extremismo son ejemplos de ello. Asà que centrar todas tus energÃas en estos ámbitos no sólo es improductivo, sino que es perjudicial, como ha demostrado claramente la historia.
No debemos confundirnos y pensar que la libertad permite a la gente ser irracional, porque normalmente no es asÃ, siempre hay un pervertido detrás de la persona irracional que se ha tomado la libertad para manipularla. Creo que si los que se dejan manipular supieran esto, dejarÃan de hacerlo si supieran que parecen payasos cuando intentan defender todas esas ideas sin pruebas, pero sospecho que lo saben muy bien y no les importa.
Uno de los aspectos más importantes para definirte es la libertad, encontrar tus pasiones, permitirte encontrar tu humanidad y tu razón, pero hablar de libertad puede parecer prematuro para algunos pero una necesidad ineludible para otros, todo depende de la rapidez con la que descubras hacia dónde van tus sueños. ¿De qué sirve el tiempo humano sin pasiones y sueños? De hecho, parece que ir por la vida sin atreverse a perseguirlos es una pérdida de tiempo. En el camino de las pasiones nos encontramos con cientÃficos, poetas, músicos, pintores, escritores, filósofos, escultores, cineastas, etc.
En la escala de lo irracional, en cambio, entre las personas con una definición malsana encontramos casi siempre: los materialistas, los viciosos, los perversos, los imparciales, los inestables (porque este camino es propenso al colapso), los dogmáticos, etc. Para ser sincero, siempre he pensado que la religión representa todas estas cosas (aunque algunos bastardos polÃticos también lo hacen).
Pero no nos damos cuenta de lo importante que es cuestionar las creencias o convicciones religiosas, más allá de que sólo buscamos la cobardÃa en la decisión de permanecer en la ignorancia, y ahà es donde nace la irracionalidad.

Interestingly, Newton discovered universal gravity and initiated the theory of light by taking walks in nature at a time when he had to abandon his university studies at Cambridge because of the bubonic plague, known as the Great Plague (1665-1667), because this crisis began when the church was busy hunting black cats, which were basically fighting the rats that were spreading the plague, according to them, in their campaign to eradicate evil from the world, which is very paradoxical.
To be rational is to be willing to learn, to question, to analyze and to solve the enigmas or problems that arise. The question is why some people choose to deny themselves this opportunity.
The problem is not mainly that they are aware of their ignorance, but that, without realizing it, they believe that the explanations of the world and all its laws are simplistic and based on the beliefs, dogmas or absurd ideas of others. Here we find faith, which is a personal belief and hope that there is a higher being who will help you; others say it is a virtud.
because the consequence is that you take away thousands of opportunities in which to invest your energy. Religion and extremism are examples of this. So focusing all your energies on these areas is not only unproductive, it is detrimental, as history has clearly shown.
We must not get confused and think that freedom allows people to be irrational, because usually it is not so, there is always a pervert behind the irrational person who has taken the freedom to manipulate him. I think if those who allow themselves to be manipulated knew this, they would stop doing it if they knew that they look like clowns when they try to defend all these ideas without evidence, but I suspect they know this very well and don't care.
One of the most important aspects of defining yourself is freedom, finding your passions, allowing yourself to find your humanity and your reason, but talking about freedom may seem premature for some but an unavoidable necessity for others, it all depends on how quickly you discover where your dreams are going. What good is human time without passions and dreams? Indeed, it seems that going through life without daring to pursue them is a waste of time. On the road of passions we meet scientists, poets, musicians, painters, writers, philosophers, sculptors, filmmakers, etc.
On the scale of the irrational, on the other hand, among people with an unhealthy definition we almost always find: the materialistic, the vicious, the perverse, the impartial, the unstable (because this path is prone to collapse), dogmatists, etc. To be honest, I have always thought that religion stands for all of these things (although some political bastards do too).
But we do not realize how important it is to question religious beliefs or convictions, beyond that we only seek cowardice in the decision to remain in ignorance, and that is where irrationality is born. Peace to all.
