A lot if them are changing to a vending machine variante, but I realy like the traditional way of trust and moral. It has a long tradition here in Switzerland.
That is a great tradition... I can't imagine how that could work here in Spain :) Farmers would probably bankrupt... lol...

Yeah, I wonder all the time how they survive withthis, but on the outher hand I allways pay up, mostly with a tipp. There is also a lot of farmers making a field (flowers, strawberrys and so) for people to pick themselfes and pay on a spot like this one where they have a skale and the prices. This is cheaper, about 3bucks a kilo strawberrys, so worth it 🍀 and with prices like this people often pay up.
