Yes, this is a sofa and a padded chair being thrown out. Hopefully, somebody picked it up before trash collection service got it and dumped it in a landfill. Because, in my humble opinion, the less trash we introduce into the environment, the better.
This is in such contrast to the environment I grew up in that it never ceases to amaze me how much the world has changed and how much more affluent we are, at least in the developed world. Furniture like this would have never been thrown out in the old country, in the old days. It would simply have been far too valuable.
I guess things are changing all the time, and the world never stays the same, not even for a second.

I agree with you that it's important to reduce the amount of trash we produce. Furniture like that would have been reused or recycled in the past, and it's a shame to see it end up in a landfill.
They are in good condition and anyone who needs them will definitely buy them for their home at a low price.
They are in a fine condition, and hopefully someone in need will see these sofas and they will take them to their home.
It should have been given someone else instead of throwing out.
