Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share a few photos of the lake from the other day, where we saw a little brook!

Frozen Brook Monochrome Monday
Like any lake, especially man-made ones, there are always going to be quite a bit of tiny tributaries feeding it!
The lake has been one of my son and I's favorite places to go and visit. It's got a lot of great stuff around it, and one of the best things is that it's pretty accessible. There are plenty of areas you can park and spend time along it, but not necessarily a bunch of big public beaches like some other places have. I think that makes it a little bit of a hidden gem! This little adventure was no different, because we originally tried to go park at one of the other sides of the lake that I wanted to visit but sadly the snow was completely blocking the access! Damn!
That was okay, we didn't let it deter us from having a little adventure. I really miss these adventures that I go on with my son, because they end up being a lot of fun and a great way for me to spend one on one time with him, get to know him and watch him grow up as much as I can. For sure there are things I could do better with these, but you try to do the best you can..
Thankfully with this adventure, I tried to be as relaxed as possible and not get too stressed out with the dangers of the ice and stuff. It worked out, because the little man is sadly getting older! He's a lot stronger and more capable now than he was even a few months ago, or last year. He was able to do and traverse a lot more of this stuff than he was able to which is obvious, but still a little sad for me to watch him grow up lol.
The part of the lake we often fish at has this fun little brook that feeds it. You can see it best in the winter! There is a nice little channel that runs a long here, and is fed by a tiny pond on the other side of the road. The kids in the area love to use that pond for some hockey stuff which is cool, and I'm happy for them.
We first saw the little brook last year, and I loved it! It's cool to see these little windy things snaking their way through. The temperature was pretty warm so there was quite a bit of snow melt, but even if the temperatures were incredible cold the thing would likely still be flowing. The moving water is the craziest bit about these types of things - even a tiny trickle and they will stay unfrozen which is wild!
I think seeing the little brook in black and white was a really cool thing for me as well. There are a lot of cool things about the color picture, but black and white is a bit special. Moving water on a nice snowy-white background is one of my favorite types of pictures!

All of our snow is gone now. Temps hit the 60's yesterday and I think a lot of people are thinking about Spring now. I'm not ruling out a May snowstorm though...
I remember as a kid we got an April first blizzard. That was fun! Got like 14 inches or something lol.
Yeah we got to 64 today which was wonderful, I spent a lot of much needed time outside in the sun! Hopefully we have a decent weekend this week so I can take my son to the beach or something. It's also maple syrup weekend which is great!
That's cool. My friend is still probably a couple weeks away from boiling his stuff up. The sun has been very nice the past few days!

Hahaha damn that's warm! We hit 64 today which was phenomenal lol spent a lot of time outside in the sun!!
Yeah we got a decent amount of snow. I'm glad I went with my son when we did because it's all gone now! Hopefully another week or so and it'll dry out so we can go exploring the sand before the lake fills.
