Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to reflect a little bit on how things have thankfully took a better turn for my mood and writing!
Mental Monochrome Monday
There has been a heck of a whirlwind over the last few weeks let me tell you!
I am thankful that I've gotten through it, not that I doubted I would but there were certainly times when I would have thought I would've gone nuts with how hectic things were getting. Thankfully this iteration of monochrome Monday isn't one where I am deep in the abyss of negative thoughts, and that's an important thing.
We tend to get caught up sometimes in the swirling that can happen when things are going sideways with various things in life. I think it's easy to do because when things are going sideways, we have to spend far more mental energy and focus on figuring out how we get things back on track.
When I get caught up in things like that, I definitely am thrown off my game. I am a much better person and writer when things are going well. When things are fucked up and dreary, I can definitely feel that shit!
I am glad that I am able to write from a good standpoint instead of one that's messed up and sketchy. That's pretty important for me because I know that some people really do well and thrive in terms of content in situations that evoke a lot of strong and negative emotions. All the power to them! I prefer to stay as far away from Mr. Poe as I possibly can, thanks much!
Being able to catalog some posts when I am in good spirits and mental capacity is really good and cathartic for me. Yes it's good to also be able to channel those emotions and thoughts when we are in the midst of them so that we can potentially wrest things out from it. I prefer to brood in my mind when those things are going on, instead of writing. It seems to be my better strategy for dealing with it.
Taking some of the photos from the past few months, I enjoyed sifting through some to find a little bit of a theme. Water seems to be the predominant theme in a lot of my photos hahaha but oh well. I love all aspects of water, what can I say?
I think the dramatic element for me is how black and white changes the bright and wonderful colors of water into something more thoughtful and dramatic. It is kind of like my mood at times - most of the time it is very much in the bright colors and stuff. Other times however it gets into the black, white and grey areas.
Having the one post per week dedicated to these deeper and potentially darker themes has been a good outlet for me, though surprisingly not as good as one may have thought with difficult times. I prefer not to go too deep in the wrong direction that's for sure!

Interesting B&W visual proposal @cmplxty friend...
Awesome thanks!
I need to do some more black and white edits of my photos. I have so many of them and I just feel like some of them would lend themselves well to this format. It's so easy to do it these days, that I really need to spend more time with it.
Yeah I try find specific ones that would look cool in black and white and thankfully have some good ones! Not all are for that but I've got some decent ones.
As you said you just need to get the habit going.
The pictures are very beautiful
Nice!!!!
Thanks I appreciate it, I agree!
