Headed over to the Highlands this afternoon to practice with my new Holga lens some more. It'd rained all morning and was still rather overcast and grey, so it was perfectly terrible conditions to be shooting with it but I couldn't pass up the warmish weather. You can't adjust aperture (it's basically a pinhole camera), so I was having to shoot at 1/60s with an ISO of 3200 to even have a chance of getting something.
The Holga is a medium format plastic toy camera, so in keeping with that I'm posting these unedited, just resized so ecency can swallow them. Plus it's good practice for getting it right in camera.
Can't hardly see through the viewfinder when it's dim and dreary out, made hitting a moving target even more difficult.
Seems your comrade Vlad is inviting you to a party. Be sure to wear something red.
Under penalty of law, I have no clue what's going on here.
Old neighborhood hardware stores are made for the Holga aesthetic methinks.
The Highlands is one of my old stomping grounds, so it's hardly surprising to run into an old friend but for some reason it is usually Johnny here.
Always have wanted to get a good shot of this spot. One of these days it'll happen. It's a cigar shop and there's usually at least a handful of guys outside puffing away but I'm usually on the wrong side of the street for it.
In the land of concrete and asphalt, where's a poor dog supposed to shit?
very interesting results. not such shiny and crispy like made with the modern or more technological lenses.
i used different strange lenses for my digital 5d mkii. now you reminded me that the last weekend i put a roll to my Holga and even exposed a few frames and now must to go out out and continue it even the weather is windy and not too bright.
It's interesting for sure :) I have to say I'm kind of fond of it, never shot with anything quite like this before.
Can't wait to see the Holga results!
thank you bro, i finished the roll and was sure that will be in time to develop it last weekend, but as usual was busy. next weekend for sure :-)
If posting without editing is already a good photo, what if it was touched by editing? The photo results would definitely be very good.
You're likely right. The Holga is a film camera, I was posting them unedited to keep with the 'what you shoot is what you get' aspect of that.
Very nice photos thanks for sharing 👍🏾
