“I need you to get out some of those ugly plastic bins with old stuff out of your closet side”... That's what my wife said after we were having breakfast and chatting happily about the weather, our pets and other nice things... 😕 So that was how my morning was spent moving a couple of those big plastic boxes into the storage room where we keep literally “thousands of old things from generations ago”... However, in the back and forth I decided to open one of those bins and found things in there that brought back a lot of memories... Here are some pictures I took of those things to share with you today on #Hive... 📷

Eso fue lo que dijo mi esposa después de que estuvimos desayunando y conversando alegremente sobre el clima, nuestras mascotas y otras cosas lindas... 😕 Así fue como mi mañana estuvo dedicada a mover un par de esas grandes cajas plásticas al depósito en donde guardamos literalmente "millares de cosas viejas desde hace generaciones"... Sin embargo, en el ir y venir decidí abrir uno de esos recipientes y encontré allí cosas que me trajeron un montón de recuerdos... Estas son algunas fotos que hice de esas cosas para compartir con ustedes hoy en #Hive... 📷
Good heavens! I found in that box some old “Ready for Windos 95” processor chips 🤣... RAM memories from the same era and a couple of heatsinks for those parts... Back in the late 90's I used to make upgrades to my PC's myself, then I kept the old parts and these apparently were left inside this container with old stuff... Finding this prompted me to get my camera, put my 100mm macro lens and use an old glass table as a location to take some photos of this old tech stuff...
¡Santos cielos! Encontré en esa caja algunos viejos chips de procesadores "Listos para Windos 95" 🤣... Memorias RAM de la misma época y un par de disipadores de calor para esas partes... A finales de los años 90 acostumbraba a hacer yo mismo mejoras a en mis PC, entones guardaba las partes viejas y estas al parecer quedaron dentro de este contenedor con cosas viejas... Encontrar esto me impulsó a buscar mi cámara, poner mi lente para macro fotografía de 100mm y usar una vieja mesa de cristal como locación para hacer algunas fotos de estas viejas cosas de tecnología...
Just when my wife passed beside me shouting and saying things like, “Did you really take pictures of that?” or “You should throw all this junk in the trash, this house is like a museum of useless things!” 🤣 an old Kodak digital camera seemed to jump into my hands. I immediately remembered that this belonged to my younger sister and was one of the first digital cameras we had at home. At the time my sister bought that little camera I had not yet started my passion for photography, so I don't think I ever used this little Kodak Camera... 😕
Justo cuando mi esposa pasó a mi lado dando de gritos y diciendo cosas como: "¿En verdad te has puesto a hacer fotos de eso?" o "¡Deberías lanzar todo esto a la basura, esta casa parece un museo de cosas inútiles!" 🤣 una vieja Cámara digital marca Kodak pareció saltar a mis manos. De inmediato recordé que esta pertenecía a mi hermana menor y que fue una de las primeras cámaras digitales que tuvimos en casa. En la época en la que mi hermana compró esa pequeña cámara yo aún no había comenzado mi pasión por la fotografía, así que creo qu nunca usé esta pequeña Cámara Kodak... 😕
Even an old Sony magnetic tape cassette player was in that box of old stuff. I think this device belonged first to my father, but there was a moment when I took it for myself and the presence inside it of a cassette tape with the title “THE WALL” (By Pink Floyd) corroborates it, because I don't think Dad listened to that, he was more into Gardel's tangos and Mexican ranchera songs 😀...
Incluso un viejo reproductor Sony para casetes de cinta magnética estaba en esa caja con cosas viejas. Creo que este aparato perteneció primero a mi padre, pero hubo en un momento de en el que yo lo tomé para mi y la presencia dentro de este de un casete grabado con el titulo "THE WALL" (Pink Floyd) así lo corrobora, pues no creo que Papá oyera eso, lo suyo eran más bien tangos de Gardel y canciones rancheras mejicanas 😀...
I had to interrupt my “photo shoot” to finish pleasing my wife by making some extra space in my closet so she could reorganize my clothes and shoes. But I think I'll go back to rummaging through my bins with old stuff later to take some more pictures of other things...And I don't plan to throw anything in the trash!...We still have some space in the storage room to keep more stuff we don't use!... 🤣
Tuve que interrumpir mi "sesión fotográfica" para terminar de complacer a mi esposa haciendo algo de espacio adicional en mi armario y que así ella pudiese reorganizar mi ropa y zapatos. Pero creo que posteriormente volveré a ojear mis cajones con cosas viejas para hacer más fotos de otras cosas...¡Y no pienso tirar nada a la basura!... ¡Aún tenemos algo de espacio en el cuarto de depósito para guardar mas cosas que no usamos!... 🤣

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

These are the best moments, when all the things that were once so valuable fall into your hands. Some of them still work in my house. I still use an old RX-DT75 from Panasonic in the kitchen. It works perfectly! Even my 14-year-old Apple notebook still works great with LINUX. My stereo system is also 30 years old. I still have a functional Walkman in the cellar. I only use it for carnival or costume parties. In other words, I can't part with such things as long as they work. And once a device is no longer repairable, the individual parts can certainly still be bought. 😎

Se puede crear una relacion de imagenes bastante ocurrentes porque estamos viendo como la tecnologia se ve a si misma desde una perspectiva de progreso en una especie de espejo futuro en el cual nosotros (los humanos) como disparadores (creadores) estamos en ambos lados siguiendo la misma linea temporal pero sin ser vistos, dos caras invisible del mismo aparato. Excelentes tomas amigo.
Sabes, hacía mucho tiempo que no veía un reproductor de casete, yo tengo uno, portátil, de reportero, de cuando hacía entrevistas con ese tipo de grabadoras, años 80 y 90.
Y además tienes un procesador del año 97.
Y la Kodad, es una de las primeras digitales, y era muy moderna en su época, jajaja.
Tienes historia, en esa cajita, hasta con los disipadores de calor.
Muy bueno.

wow ! this "THE WALL" is the most incredible and the most nostalgic stuff here. even i very often listen to the old albums of Pink Floyd and specifically to this album !
I used to play it loudly on the tape player of my old '86 Toyota FJ40!... Until my neighbors threatened to burn my car if I didn't stop coming home in the wee hours of the morning with it playing!!!.... hahaha 🤣
