Here in Montalbán (Venezuela) the foggy mornings represent an opportunity to take pictures that you can't miss... Today I went through the rural roads that I have at hand, because the truth is that I had not planned to take pictures today and I had to invest part of my morning in fulfilling some work commitments related to deliveries of products that which I sell. However, the presence of the fog pushed me to do everything as fast as possible and at 8:45 AM I was already on my way to the countryside with my camera hanging around my neck ready to shoot a lot of pictures... So, please go ahead and join me in this photographic route which I brought today to share with you!...
Aquí en Montalbán (Venezuela) las mañanas repletas de niebla representan una oportunidad para hacer fotos que no se puede pasar... Hice hoy recorrido por los caminos rurales que más tengo a mano, pues la verdad no tenía proyectado hacer fotografías hoy y tuve que invertir parte de mi mañana en cumplir algunos compromisos de trabajo relacionados con entregas de productos los cuales vendo. Sin embargo, la presencia de la niebla me impulsó para hacer todo lo más rápido posible y ya a las 8:45 AM iba rumbo al campo con mi cámara al cuello dispuesto a disparar unas cuantas fotos... Entonces, por favor sigan adelante, acompáñenme en esta ruta fotográfica la cual traje hoy para compartir con ustedes...
I made the whole route on my old bike, I wanted to take full advantage of the remaining time with the presence of the fog over the valley. Usually around 10:00 AM everything is already clear and the sun begins to feel embracing. However, today it did not happen this way, but we had fog until after 11:00 AM, something really exceptional according to my experience... In fact, there were moments when the fog was so dense as to make me feel the sensation that I was under a light rain and when looking at the front of my camera lens I could corroborate the presence of some water drops, so I had to dry it with a small micro-fiber cloth which I usually carry in my backpack...
Hice todo el recorrido en mi vieja bicicleta, quería aprovechar al máximo el tiempo restante con la presencia de la niebla sobre el valle. Por lo general cerca de las 10:00 AM ya todo está despejado y comienza a sentirse un sol abrazador. Sin embargo, hoy no ocurrió de esta manera, sino que el tuvimos niebla hasta pasadas las 11:00 AM, algo realmente excepcional según mi experiencia... De hecho, hubo momentos en los que la niebla era tan densa como para hacerme sentir la sensación de que estaba bajo una ligera lluvia y al ver el frontal del lente de mi cámara pude corroborar la presencia de algunas gotas de agua, así que tuve que secar este con pequeño paño de micro-fibra el cual suelo llevar en mi mochila...
I found many people coming and going along the rural road which crosses the southern end of the valley, some greeted me and commented that they were surprised by the density of the fog that morning, by its duration and also because it brought with it an also unusual drop in temperature to about 17°C, which for us in this region is quite cold and unexpected... I also found dogs on the road and some vehicles coming and going to the agricultural properties in the area. On both sides of the road the landscape had that curious charm, typical of the dry pastures due to the drought, bathed by the fog that seemed to be taken from another place... I love this, no matter how many times I experience it, it still fascinates me as it did when I was a child and wandered along these roads...
Encontré muchas personas yendo y viniendo por la carretera rural la cual atraviesa el extremo sur del valle, algunos me saludaron y me comentaron que se sentían sorprendidos por la densidad de la niebla esa mañana, por su duración y también porque esta traía consigo un también inusual descenso de temperatura a unos 17°C, lo cual para nosotros en esta región es bastante frío e inesperado... También hallé perros en la carretera y algunos vehículos yendo y viniendo a las propiedades agrícolas de la zona. De lado y lado del camino el paisaje tenía ese encanto curioso, típico de los pastizales secos debido a la sequía, bañados por la niebla que parecía sacada de otro lugar... Amo esto, no importa cuantas veces lo experimente, me sigue fascinando como cuando era un niño y deambulaba ya por estos caminos...
Photographically speaking, the most challenging things one can face in these weather conditions are perhaps the continuous variations in light intensity due to the unpredictable density changes of the fog. Also the variations in temperatures can be complex, as along with the changes in brightness come some blue and even aquamarine tones in the fog and the ochers of the dry vegetation become warmer depending on the time... All this is delightful, all this is lovely to take pictures in RAW and in manual mode (M) and make the mind focus on getting the right image and not on everyday problems... Who wouldn't want to come here to do this then? ;)
Fotográficamente hablando, las cosas más desafiantes a las que se puede uno enfrentar en estas condiciones climáticas, quizás sean las continuas variaciones de intensidad de la luz debido a los cambios de densidad imprevisibles de la niebla. También las variaciones en las temperaturas pueden ser complejas, pues junto con los cambios de luminosidad vienen algunos tonos azules e incluso aguamarinas en la niebla y los ocres del la vegetación seca se hacen más cálidos según el momento... Todo esto es delicioso,todo esto es encantador para hacer las fotos en RAW y en modo manual (M) y hacer que la mente se centre en lograr una imagen correcta y no en los problemas cotidianos... ¿Quien no querría venir aquí a hacer esto entonces? :)
If I had known that the fog was going to be so long lasting this day in the valley, I might have gone up to my beloved hills west of town. However, this ride on my old bike was also delightful and I returned home very relaxed so that I could continue with the activities planned for the day.... ;)
De haber sabido que la niebla iba a ser tan duradera este día en el valle, quizás hubiese subido a mis amadas colinas al oeste del pueblo. Sin embargo, este paseo sobre mi vieja bicicleta también me ha resultado encantador y he regresado muy relajado a casa para así poder seguir con las actividades proyectadas para el día... ;)

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Awww... Nice! You are the second person to tell me that some of my photos have watercolor colors my friend, the first one was the historical chronicler of our town who has seen other of my photographic works and has told me that my colors (especially when I photograph in fog) are like watercolors, and he happens to be a watercolor painter too!... I love this!... Two watercolor artists have told me the same thing on different photos!... :)) ... I think it's because I usually use layers of attenuation with different tones until the photo looks the way I want it to... ;)

Esa fría atmosfera mañanera repleta de niebla es algo que siempre he querido experimentar a lo largo del día hasta la noche.
Digo, en donde vivo suele hacer frio por las mañanas de 6:00 Am a 8:00 Am y hace mucho más frio cuando llueve, pero es temporal, porque cuando llega la tarde, todos los días sin falta, el sol hace lo suyo: Sofocarnos.
Me gustaría experimentar ese clima frio por mucho más tiempo a lo largo del día.
