In the village where I live we are still fortunate enough to have large areas where nature is still at its best. This then is by all means a very good thing, because it is quite easy to cut through that "pessimistic view" that the streets of the village usually provide and to enter those corners with greenery and narrow paths, which allow for a necessary mental and spiritual hygiene.
En el pueblo donde vivo aún tenemos la fortuna de contar con extensas áreas en donde la naturaleza sigue ocurriendo a sus anchas. Esto entonces es a todas luces algo muy bueno, pues es bastante fácil cortar esa "visión pesimista" que usualmente brindan las calles del pueblo y adentrarse en esos rincones con vegetación y veredas angostas, los cuales permiten una necesaria higiene mental y espiritual.
Taking photographs in nature is diametrically opposed to taking photographs in the streets. In nature you are little more than a simple spectator subjected at all times to a kind of visual magic over which you have no influence. In the street, on the other hand, you are part of what is happening and everything is much more predictable and palpable. But when we wander in nature with a camera in our hands, then it is up to us to be humble and understand that everything that happens there is part of a plan against which we should never attack. On the contrary, we should express admiration and respect for the natural miracle happening before our eyes.
Hacer fotografías en la naturaleza es algo diametralmente opuesto a hacerlo en las calles. En la naturaleza eres poco más que un simple espectador sometido en todo momento a un tipo de magia visual sobre la cual no puedes incidir. En la calle, en cambio, uno forma parte de lo que sucede y todo es mucho más previsible y palpable. Pero cuando deambulamos en naturaleza con una cámara en las manos, entonces nos toca ser humildes y entender que todo cuanto allí sucede es parte de un plan contra el cual no deberíamos atentar nunca. Por el contrario, deberíamos expresar admiración y respeto por el milagro natural ocurriendo ante nuestros ojos.
In nature there is everything. There is the abstract, the sinuous, the complex, the simple, the lines and the curves come together to give us breathtaking motifs. Even in the rural areas near me, which are evidently somewhat humanised, this happens all the time. This forces me to silence my mind (it is not for nothing that spiritual masters recommend frequent contact with nature) and to try to "feel" what is happening in any small space where I can find a photograph to take.
En la naturaleza está todo. Está lo abstracto, lo sinuoso, lo complejo, lo simple, las lineas y las curvas comulgan para regalarnos motivos sobrecogedores. Inclusive en las áreas rurales que tengo cerca, las cuales evidentemente están un tanto humanizadas, esto sucede constantemente. Esto me obliga a silenciar la mente (no en balde los maestros espirituales suelen recomendar el frecuente contacto con la naturaleza) y a procurar "sentir" lo que sucede en cualquier pequeño espacio en donde entonces suelo encontrar una fotografía para hacer.
It never ceases to amaze me how deeply flawed our behaviour as a species has been when it comes to our treatment of nature. We have literally done our worst and put a gun to our own heads... And we have done this while a good part of us warns the vast majority of the unwitting about the risk!... Doesn't that seem like a real atrocity? Well, it seems to me that the issue is no longer reversible, so perhaps the best thing to do is to enjoy nature as much as possible for the time we have left (I know it is a rather pessimistic view, but I invite you to take a look at the news and see how the planet is a climatic chaos which could well belong to the storyline of a science fiction novel).
No deja de sorprenderme cuan profundamente nefasto ha sido nuestro comportamiento como especie en lo que se refiere a nuestro trato para con la naturaleza. Literalmente lo hemos hecho lo peor posible y nos hemos puesto una pistola en la cabeza nosotros mismos... ¡Y esto lo hemos hecho mientras buena parte de nosotros advierte sobre el riego a la gran mayoría de inconscientes!... ¿No les parece una verdadera atrocidad?. Bueno, me parece que la cuestión ya no es reversible, así que quizás lo mejor sea disfrutar de la naturaleza en lo posible durante el tiempo que nos queda (ya sé que es una visión bastante pesimista, pero les invito a echar un ojo en los noticieros y ver como el planeta es un caos climático el cual bien podría pertenecer a la trama de una novela de ciencia ficción).
I have my doubts, I also wonder what will happen first: Will the humans succumb first to its own destructive endeavour and then nature will continue to evolve here and perhaps give another chance to some organism to replace us? Or perhaps we are destined to disappear along with our natural environment and leave the planet on its way to becoming an "odious mass of barren, desolate red earth" like Mars for example. Be that as it may, I am certain that humanity will not survive the gradual and willful destruction of its environment.... It is as if we were dynamiting the foundations of the building we are in!
Tengo mis dudas, también me hago preguntas respecto a que sucederá primero. ¿Sucumbirá primero la raza humana a su propio empreño destructivo y entonces la naturaleza seguirá aquí evolucionando y quizás dando otra oportunidad a algún organismo que nos substituya? o quizás estemos destinados a desaparecer junto con nuestro entorno natural y dejar al planeta rumbo a convertirse en una "odiosa masa de tierra roja estéril y desolada" como Marte por ejemplo. Sea como sea, estoy seguro de que la humanidad no sobrevivirá a la destrucción progresiva y voluntaria de su entorno... ¡Es como si estuviésemos dinamitando los cimientos de un edificio dentro del cual estamos!.
ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografiar capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Excelente post reflexivo, estimado. Estoy de acuerdo cuando dices que frente a la naturaleza debemos ser humildes y agradecer por el milagro que estamos presenciando. Lamentablemente, el problema del cambio climático se escapó de nuestras manos.
A pesar de las advertencias, los desastres que se han previsto y las consecuencias que ahora vivimos, ¡la maquinaria no para! No se trata de ser pesimistas, sino realistas. Opino que desapareceremos primero que la naturaleza. Aunque en el fondo me gustaría creer que todo mejorará.
Por cierto, excelentes fotos. Tu trabajo nunca deja de sorprenderme. Saludos.

Me sorprende que puedas encontrar con facilidad todas esas especies, sin duda alguna Moltalban sigue teniendo sus reservas.
Si @wilfredocav, a pesar del empeño destructivo, aún es relativamente fácil salir a caminar y toparse con animales diversos. Espero los meses de final de año cuando las lluvias paren para poder hacer alguna excursión montaña arriba y ver que veo por ahí... ;) Saludos y feliz fin de semana!

Gracias por esas maravillosas fotos, me encantó la de la serpiente, no es fácil hacerles fotos, ciertamente en la naturaleza ocurren millones de cosas que pasan desapercibidas para la mayoría de nosotros y que son pura magia que mantiene a este planeta funcionando a pesar de tener un inquilino tan desastroso como el ser humano 😕😒😥
