Flowers are what I consider to be among the most artful of nature's creations. The colors, shades, and designs that all happen with or without human help. It is really an amazing thing to behold, especially up close. I enjoy the challenge of finding interesting angles and ways to present these little works of art that dot the landscapes. I think it is also a great way to learn how to use and shape depth of field to your advantage.
Most flowers will grow in many directions, and getting the parts of your subject that you want to be sharp can get tricky. If you let depth of field aid your creativity, then you find there are many more ways to capture images, and with flowers in an outdoor environment, there could be all kinds of lighting and shadows to work with. Its good to be able to use what's there to your advantage because you never know what you might capture.
