When I look at this tombstone its carved design caught my eye but what I found even more interesting is the stone fungus. It is somehow very picturesque in its detail and I knew that it would look pretty neat if I was able to capture enough of the detail. It really adds this weathered look to the structure as well, something that has stood the test of time. The lichen is actually considered to be a state of stable symbiotic association between a fungus and algae. It is not a single organism but part of something larger.
