My friend Olga had arrived in this city the day before and after walking around together doing some errands and looking for something to have lunch, we decided to go to the beach to share with the sea. We are both natives of the small Isle of Youth in the south of Cuba. So we love being close to the sea, it is a friend that always accompanies us in good times and bad.
The afternoon was grey. And the sea without its typical Caribbean blue looked beautiful and almost rough with its waves and foam giving us images of beauty and strength.
On the islands we look at the horizon, feeling that we expand our soul and can embrace the world. We see our wishes sail to their destination and also...who knows if a bottle with a wish written on a piece of paper will wash ashore.
Have you ever wished you could walk on water? Or maybe walk on the depths of the ocean? We are still unaware of all the life that the sea harbours in its depths. That apparent sweetness on its surface shelters an incredible universe of creatures, colours and forms of life. From these waters we were born. It is said that the composition of our body fluid is similar to that of seawater.
This is a small beach, about 300 metres long. The locals come here to enjoy and share. Sometimes, when there are hurricanes, the wind and rain unleash the fury of the sea, then the panorama is different and causes flooding in the city. That's why you have to love the sea as it is, a living being, adorable and magical.
