except from the previous episode
"You did well, Thorak, y-you did well" Abin spoke with an unsteady voice as he slumped.
I noticed that there was a blue discharge oozing from his ribs, he had been shot by a stray arrow, the lieutenants quickly rushed to his aid before he hit the ground.
I heard Abin groaning as I stepped closer to the scene, the whole attention of the crowd shifted towards Abin, their giant figures crowded around him and I couldn't get a peek at the situation but I could sense the atmosphere suddenly become cold and somber.
"Make way! Give room..." One of the higher-ranking lieutenants voiced in an attempt to give Abin some breathable space.
The men ushered Abin as he leaned on them, There was a deadly silence, the air around became thick with tension. we headed slowly towards home, for a brief moment, I was surprised that I now considered the caves my home.
I grabbed hold of the orb chest we had discovered in the caves, one of the lieutenants had dropped it when he rushed to aid Abin, I felt a slight weight of pressure and guilt like I was responsible for this ordeal, the chest was also very heavy but I carried it without complaint, an intention of solidarity, but I doubt if that would be sufficient, I could feel a shift in their countenance towards me.
Soon Afterwards, we followed some other secret paths with maximum vigilance until we approached the cave entrance to the city.
Some more people rushed out of the city to aid as they noticed the tragedy that approached, I heard lots of murmuring and hissing as they took Abin further down the caves, I tried to follow but one of the lieutenants obstructed my path.
"That's as far as you go, Topat" He spoke with a hint of disdain as he grabbed the orb-chest from my hands without courtesy.
He signaled the remainder of his subordinates to escort me, the stroll back to my dwelling lasted longer than I hoped as I could feel the gaze of the people around me, after I got to my quarters, I observed that some guards also remained outside the door standing watch over me.
I laid down with my gaze fixated on the ceiling, many questions raced through my mind, It seems my future with the Orktargs was now tied to Abin's survival. I wondered if it would have been better If I had just gone with my brother.
As I was lost in thoughts, my solitude was interrupted by another presence.
"Emm, Thorak, My father seeks an audience with you" Misa spoke with a calm tone but I could see the sadness in her eyes.
I followed Misa and shortly arrived at the chamber where Abin was being treated, I saw that he was surrounded by some women with some herbs treating his wounds, they looked like healers, Abin laid down barely conscious but he was able to raise his hands and motioned towards me.
The healers gave way and I was finally able to observe closely the wounds around his ribs, I saw from the abrasions and discolorations around the cut that looked very familiar.
"Ah... He's been poisoned" I blurted out and took a sharp glance at Misa.
"What do you mean, Thorak" Misa moved closer and questioned with a more worrying look.
"The arrow that pierced him was poisoned, you have to let me help..."
"Then help him, Thorak" Misa responded nervously as she grabbed my hands.
"There is an antidote... a Lobab root that grows in my hometown, I can get it before the wounds become more deathly"
I noticed some uncertainty clouded her face, she took a brief look at her father and then back at me.
"Stay here, Thorak, I will be back shortly," She said and hurriedly left the room.
I heard faint groans from Abin while I was left alone with him, it seemed he was trying to voice something, I moved very close to him, my ears inches away from his mouth.
"Th-The Eye... Look..." Abin tried to speak.
"Thorak... can you repeat what you said to Zilad" Misa interrupted as she walked in abruptly, one of the high-chiefs accompanied her into the chamber.
I walked toward them and tried my best to explain the situation and why I would need to go back to my village to get the herbs but I could see the doubt on the chief's face.
"Your Father's love clouds your judgment Misa, This Topat knows our caves and secrets, there is no way we can let him go" The chief replied with a rather serious tone.
