Competitividad: Fuente de motivación heredada🤼 ||Competitiveness: Source of inherited motivation🤼
Se podría decir que los seres humanos llevamos la competitividad en nuestro ADN, esto ya que, citando la teoría de selección natural de Darwin: biológicamente estamos programados para hacer perpetuar nuestros genes, y que mejor manera de hacerlo que desarrollar habilidades que nos faciliten la supervivencia y nos destaquen del montón. Y es que incluso antes de nacer, siendo espermatozoides, todos participamos en una competencia por lograr llegar a ese óvulo que nos otorgaría el boleto a este mundo terrenal.
It could be said that human beings carry competitiveness in our DNA, this because, citing Darwin's theory of natural selection: biologically we are programmed to perpetuate our genes, and what better way to do it than to develop skills that facilitate survival and stand out from the crowd. And it is that even before birth, being spermatozoa, we all participate in a competition to reach that egg that would give us the ticket to this earthly world.
Ahora bien, cuando somos chicos vemos como el rasgo competitivo se manifiesta en situaciones que van desde la lucha entre hermanos por lograr la atención de los padres, pasando por competencias en los juegos con otros niños por ver quien se destaca más en diferentes actividades. Es más, en la adolescencia todos hemos llegado a combatir por el amor de esa persona especial...
Now, when we are children we see how the competitive trait is manifested in situations that range from the fight between siblings to get the attention of parents, through competitions in games with other children to see who stands out more in different activities. Moreover, in adolescence we have all come to fight for the love of that special person...
De mi formación como Scout he aprendido que la competencia es una herramienta que nos permite sacar a relucir lo mejor de cada uno de nosotros, es decir, es una gran herramienta de motivación. La misma tiene un componente social muy importante ya que se nutre de la interacción con nuestros semejantes, siendo el objetivo superar al rival.
From my training as a Scout I have learned that competition is a tool that allows us to bring out the best in each of us, that is, it is a great motivational tool. It has a very important social component since it is nourished by the interaction with our peers, the objective being to overcome the rival.
En un mundo en constante desarrollo, donde los avances se dan a pasos agigantados, es cada vez más importante la competitividad , ya que es uno de los medios para lograr la tan deseada innovación y no quedarse en el aparato.
In a world in constant development, where progress is made by leaps and bounds, competitiveness is increasingly important, since it is one of the means to achieve the much-desired innovation and not remain in the apparatus.
En resumen, la competitividad está presente en muchos aspectos de nuestra vida cotidiana, a veces hasta sin darnos cuenta. Es una gran aliada para ponernos a prueba y romper nuestros propios récords, no obstante hay que evitar caer en comportamientos tóxicos que podrían restar más que aportar, siempre teniendo en cuenta que el verdadero reto es con uno mismo!
In short, competitiveness is present in many aspects of our daily lives, sometimes even without realizing it. It is a great ally to test ourselves and break our own records, however we must avoid falling into toxic behaviors that could subtract more than contribute, always bearing in mind that the real challenge is with oneself!
