Do our existential concerns rule the world? Terror Management Theory

All the successes, failures, happiness, unhappiness and all remaining existential problems that have come to this day actually stem from the fear of extinction, which is the basic motivation of human beings. Our self-confidence and self-concept are just a shield that protects us against the fact that we will disappear one day. As for culture, it is assumed that we are trying to convince ourselves that we will not perish by clinging to our culture or as many cultures as possible.

Producing timeless works of art or mingling with offspring

Here are some of the ways we believe we will continue to exist after death. In short, everything we do, except to maintain our basic functions, is done, according to this theory, in order not to confront our own mortality.
