Being a teacher is fun. Knowing that the power to make or destroy the future is in your hands. it either gives a sense of responsibility, purpose, or more power.

Deji sat in the silence of his home reminiscing on the good old days when his teaching meant something. The fact that he was now old left him with the thought and sensation that he would never teach again. He then remembered an experience in class where one of his students asked about what happened if he did anything differently to the timeline.

"What do you think would happen?" He had asked her back.
Her face lit up, "Well, there's this rule that we have to follow to not mess up the timelines. If we do it once, no matter how bad things are, they will be fixed." She explained.

He didn't really understand why she was looking at him like she expected him to get it.
He gave her a quizzical look. "Rules are made to be broken. That means if someone wants to change one thing in their timeline, they can do so. So it doesn't matter if the rules themselves are messed up." He explained.

A confused look overtook her face as she shook her head violently in disagreement. "But there is always another way, isn't there? Someone could find another solution for the rule and undo it." She argued, sounding like a child trying to convince them, adults, that they could fix a problem. Deji couldn't help but let out a laugh. It took everything within him not to call her childish.

After she had gone home, he thought about her words over and over until he fell asleep.
Thinking back on the good old days brought a powerful smile to Deji's face.

Two days before he was supposed to go to Japan
Deji found himself walking home after a long day of work.

Although Deji loves teaching science, his age finally started telling on him making it hard for him to get a job doing what he likes. Now all he could do was sit at the counter and take orders. Working at McDonald's seemed to be a big stress, but he would be leaving the country in two days so it didn't really matter.

As he walked home he kept pondering on how Japan would be, he couldn't remember what most of his siblings looked like. it's been over ten years since he saw any one of them. His mother has been begging him ever since to come back home but he kept telling her that it wasn't time. He tried to picture how his mother's expression would be when she finally sees him, he let out a smile that brightened up his face and a tear escaped from his eye.

He stopped dead in his tracks and quickly wiped his tears away before anyone noticed. Looking around to see if someone was watching him, he began to walk a bit faster towards his destination.

As he was reaching his house, his thoughts turned to the ones he had missed the most, his wife and his child and he could feel the familiar ache of loneliness coming over him.
He let out a deep sigh. He knew that he needed to leave.

With that said, he continued on his way until he reached his home. As he approached the door, he heard a loud banging sound.

He opened it cautiously and peered through the slightly open door. He saw a female figure standing by his living room window.

"Hey, you turn around slowly," he said, the lady complied. And she turned around slowly reviling her face to him. But he was very unfamiliar with this face.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?", Deji asked hoping that his old age won't send a signal of weakness to this intruder.

" Professor, it's me", the intruder said calmly hoping that Deji would understand.

Deji stared at her in confusion, the only person that called him Professor, and not Mr. Deji was his student Tohur, but she was only twelve when he left the school, she couldn't have possibly aged this much in just five years.

"I'm sorry, I don't know you. So, please exit my house", he said stepping away from the door and using his left hand to signal the way out.

"Professor, it's me Tohur, but I'm not from your time. I'm from the future." the intruder said.

Deji paused for a moment and let out a big laugh, "Tohur, is seventeen years old, she's too young to be a woman. And now you're talking about time !! you sound like a crazy person. Please exit my house." he said stepping away from the door again.

Tohur shook her head, she knew that he wouldn't believe her, "Please Professor, just give me the chance to explain. You'll know soon enough that the reason I came here was to save us."

"Save us from what?".
Before she could answer the front door flung open, revealing a young man, he didn't have a normal uniform like Tohur, instead, he wore a dark red suit with a black tie and shiny white shoes.

"prisoner 145, you are under arrest for crimes against time". he said.

But before he could do anything Tohur shot him with a plasma gun, which she revealed very quickly, like a flash of lightning.

The new intruder fell to the ground, with a giant hole in his chest. Deji screamed in fear.

But he then notices something weird about the intruder Tohur shot.

The giant hole made from the plasma blast started sparking and crackling, causing it to explode like a bomb that released a massive amount of energy, destroying whatever was left behind and sending debris everywhere.
Everything went black for Deji, he felt someone pick him up bridal style and carry him outside to safety. Then there was nothing.
