The tranquility of Aurora's nights has been interrupted by strange circumstances that bring the young college girl to the brink of madness and although for many the closure of everything is not exactly a happy ending, without a doubt for Aurora it will be the ending she always dreamed of.
"Who's there? " Aurora said as with trembling hands she pulled the curtain from her window and made a quick inspection of her garden.
It was the third night in a row that strange noises coming from outside made her wake up in the middle of the darkness and although she hasn't been able to see anything so far, something was definitely going on.
Under the window of her room, a tireless pounding of what seemed to be small pebbles hitting the wall, accompanied by a smell that she could not identify, got her out of bed every night.
She ran down the hall to the room of Thania, her best friend.
"Thania, wake up... the same noise again!"
Her sorority mate slowly sat up looking unfriendly.
Her jet black hair fell messily over the young girl's face almost completely covering her brown eyes.
"What's wrong Aurora? " she said gathering her abundant hair in a ponytail.
"Again the same noise " said the young girl to her friend pointing towards her room.
Finally Thania managed to get out of bed and walked towards Aurora's room, fully convinced that just like the previous nights they wouldn't find anything.
"I told you it's probably just one of the campus kids on some kind of strange drug, that's all". She said entering the room and making sure there was no one in the garden lurking in the dark.
"Let's go to sleep. We have exam in a few hours and we need to rest. " Said Thania leaving the room.
Reluctantly Aurora made her way back to bed, but not before taking one last glance towards the gazebo. It was at that moment when the sight of a huge shadow looming over the house made her fall backwards on the cold wooden floor.
"Aurora... what the hell... what are you doing lying on the floor? " shouted Thania who was forced by the loud noise to return to the young girl's room.
She quickly reached out her hand and helped her to her feet, while Aurora, completely beside herself, looked terrified at the garden through her window.
"There it is, there it is " she repeated incessantly, pulling hard at Thania's shirt, who was trying in vain to calm her down.
"Come with me to the kitchen... I'll make you some chamomile tea " Thania ordered worried about the state the young girl was in and practically dragged her into the kitchen.
Aurora seemed disoriented. She was in some kind of strange trance from which she was unable to return, which disturbed Thania, who had never faced anything like this before.
While she was preparing the tea, Aurora remained seated at the bar just behind her with her body completely rigid... motionless before the incredulous gaze of her friend, who was struggling to understand what was happening.
She was removing the teapot from the fire when a strange sensation made her shudder from head to toe, causing the cups in her hands to nearly crash to the floor.
He took a deep breath and inwardly berated himself for letting his emotions get the better of him. One last deep breath invoking calm and he spun on his heels to meet Aurora's eyes head on.
At what point had she gotten up from her seat!
This time the cups slipped from her hands and the sound of the glass hitting the floor made the young girl react and she let out a deafening scream as she pointed to the vending behind her friend.
"There he is, he came for me.... Sebastian came for me".
"Aurora, look at me "
"Sebastian died a year ago honey, he can't be there " said Thania taking her friend's face between her hands who violently pulled them away and pushed her hard against the kitchen making her fall to the floor.
"He came for me " she repeated with a sweet smile on her face while a smell familiar to both of them permeated the place.
She ran towards the door immediately disappearing from her friend's sight.
It all happened in a matter of seconds, Thania couldn't get up in time to stop Aurora from running in the direction of the car that was passing in front of the fraternity house just at that moment.
The sound of the brakes was followed by a thud and Aurora's frail body was shot a few meters away from the car landing on the lawn of the garden.
"Aurora " shouted Thania as she ran to her friend's bloodied body.
"I told you he had come for me, I told you... " said Aurora, closing her eyes and smiling a sweet smile, the one that only appeared when she saw herself reflected in her beloved's eyes...
One last sigh and her life faded away together with the intoxicating scent of Sebastian's perfume.
"Together forever " said Thania clinging to her friend's lifeless body.

La tranquilidad de las noches de Aurora se ha visto interrumpida por extrañas circunstancias que llevan a la jóven universitaria al borde de la locura y aunque para muchos el cierre de todo no sea precisamente un final feliz, sin lugar a dudas para Aurora será el final que siempre soñó.
"¿Quién anda ahí?" Dijo Aurora mientras con manos temblorosas corría la cortina de su ventana y realizaba una rápida inspección a su jardín.
Era la tercera noche consecutiva en la que ruidos extraños provenientes del exterior la hacían despertar en medio de la oscuridad y aunque hasta ahora no ha podido ver nada, definitivamente algo estaba sucediendo.
Debajo de la ventana de su habitación un incansable golpeteo de lo que parecìan ser pequeñas piedrecillas chocando contra la pared, acompañados de un olor que aunque conocido no lograba identificar, la sacaban de la cama cada noche.
Corrió hacia el final de pasillo hasta la habitación de Thania, su mejor amiga.
"Thania, despierta... otra vez el mismo ruido"
Su compañera de fraternidad se incorporó lentamente con cara de pocos amigos.
Su cabello negro azabache caía desordenadamente sobre la cara de la jóven cubriendo casi por completo sus ojos color café.
"¿Qué sucede Aurora?" Dijo recogiendo su abundante cabellera en un cola.
"Otra vez el mismo ruido" indicó la jóven a su amiga señalando hacia su habitación.
Finalmente Thania logró salir de la cama y encaminó sus pasos hacia la habitación de Aurora, plenamente convencida que al igual que las noches anteriores no encontrarían nada.
"Ya te dije que seguramente es uno de los chicos del campus consumiendo algún tipo de droga extraña, es todo". Dijo entrando a la habitación y asegurándose que no hubiese nadie en el jardín acechando en la oscuridad.
"Vamos a dormir. En unas horas tenemos examen y necesitamos descansar". Dijo Thania abandonando la habitación.
A regañadientas Aurora se dispuso a regresar a la cama, no sin antes dar un último vistazo hacia el ardín. Fue en ése instante cuando la visión de una enorme sombra que se cernía sobre la casa la hizo caer de espaldas sobre el frío piso de madera.
"Aurora... pero ¿Qué diablos... qué haces tirada en suelo?" gritó Thania a quien el fuerte ruido la obligó a regresar a la habitación de la jóven.
Le extendió la mano rápidamente y la ayudó a ponerse de pie, mientras que Aurora completamente fuera de sí miraba aterrorizada hacia el jardín a través de su ventana.
"Ahí está, ahí está " repetía sin cesar tirando con fuerza la camiseta de Thania quien intentaba en vano tranquilizarla.
"Acompáñame a la cocina... te prepararé un té de manzanilla" ordenó Thania preocupada por el estado en que se encontraba la jóven y prácticamente la llevó a rastras a la cocina.
Aurora parecía desorientada. Se encontraba en una especie de extraño trance del que no lograba regresar, lo que perturbaba un poco a Thania que jamás se había enfrentado a algo parecido.
Mientras preparaba el té, Aurora permanecía sentada en la barra justo detrás de ella con el cuerpo completamente rígido... inmóvil ante la mirada incrédula de su amiga, quien se esforzaba por entender lo que estaba sucediendo.
Retiraba la tetera del fuego cuando una extraña sensación la hizo estremecer de pies a cabeza, provocando que las tazas en sus manos estuviesen a punto de estrellarse contra el suelo.
Respiró profundamente y para sus adentros se recriminó por dejarse arrastrar por sus emociones. Una última respiración profunda invocando la calma y giró sobre sus talones para encontrarse de frente con los ojos de Aurora.
¡¿En qué momento se había levantado de su asiento?!
Ésta vez las tazas resbalaron de sus manos y el ruido del cristal al chocar contra el suelo hizo reaccionar a la jóven quien lanzó un grito ensordecedor al tiempo que señalaba hacia la venta detrás de su amiga.
"Ahí está, vino por mí... Sebastián vino por mí"
"Aurora, mírame"
"Sebastián murió hace un año cariño, no puede estar ahí" dijo Thania tomando entre sus manos la cara de su amiga quien las retiró violentamente y la empujó con fuerza contra la cocina haciéndola caer al suelo.
"Vino por mí" repitió con una con una dulce sonrisa en el rostro mientras un olor conocido por ambas impregnaba el lugar.
Corrió hacia la puerta desapareciendo de inmediato de la vista de su amiga.
Todo sucedió en cuestión de segundos, Thania no pudo levantarse a tiempo para impedir que Aurora corriera en dirección al automóvil que pasaba frente a la fraternidad justo en ese momento.
Al sonido de los frenos le siguió un golpe seco y el frágil cuerpo de Aurora fue disparado a unos metros del automóvil cayendo sobre el césped del jardín.
"Aurora" gritó Thania mientras corría hacia el cuerpo ensangrentado de su amiga.
"Te dije que había venido por mí, te lo dije..." dijo Aurora cerrando los ojos esbozando una dulce sonrisa, ésa que sólo se asomaba al verse reflejada en los ojos de su amado...
Un último suspiro y su vida se desvaneció junto al embriagador aroma del perfume de Sebastián.
"Juntos para siempre" dijo Thania aferrándose al cuerpo sin vida de su amiga.

No sé porqué pero desde inicio sospechaba que Aurora terminaría sin vida o loca jajajaja. Que buena historia, al principio tuvo mucho suspenso y luego un trágico final, diría que "feliz para Aurora" porque en lo persona, fuera un duro golpe jejejeje 🤭. Lo bueno que estarán juntos por la eternidad.
