One Last First Day

A moment that Alexander will remember forever.

img_0.34689059814271817.jpg

When he took the robe in his hands, stretching it out in front of him, a small trepidation brought him back to reality, today he had finished his university career.

They say it is a day full of rejoicing, at the same time of expectations capable of making anyone nervous.

What was he going to do tomorrow, when the alarm clock would ring at the same time that announced the beginning of the day, while the sun would fill the sky with yawns at the beginning of the morning?

He knew very well his already structured agenda of activities. His clear and concise goals were a path well paved by the university, which he had become accustomed to walk.

Her comfortable and predictable routine had ended; just like that, suddenly, like the arrival of night in an autumn month.

He was surprised by a slight tremor and butterflies fluttering in his abdomen. A degree was what he would have as a token of his ability, the more he felt stirring and even forgetting what he had learned in so many years filled with late nights, anguish and happiness.

Ah, yes; there was also happiness. Emotions that they say you will only live while you go through your younger years. It won't be the same anymore; the taste of the first kiss at a party is no longer appreciated when the responsibilities of a thirty-something arrive. As they say, ice cream is only delicious when you're at your 7 years old.

Well, that's for later; for now, you'd better get dressed in your toga, express your feelings openly, vibrate with those you'll never see again; and upstairs, throw that cap so you can start a life full of uncertainties? Yes, from today, the roads are dark for being unknown, illuminated with the lanterns of uncertainty. It is scary. You only have the torch and guide of what you have learned, of your personality, charisma, responsibility, integrity, perseverance and above all, imagination, hope and faith.

"Goodbye, days of naivety," Alejandro said aloud, before turning the doorknob of his room, "The real world will want to bite my flesh, and I will not be hunted".

They say it is a day full of rejoicing, at the same time of expectations capable of making anyone nervous.

Normally, when you are done with any thing that can make you a man, you have to rejoice and be happy at all cost. Graduating is what can make every human being feel so great and happy because you don't have to go back to school again...

I'm glad to read your comment. Certainly, graduating starts the time to take the path that a man must build. Happy day to you.
