In this video, I take a closer look at just how much DEC is out there and how much the team is circulating through every week.
So far, the team has continued a rate of roughly 40M DEC per week to facilitate back end credits transactions which means we are getting to a point where they will be completely out of DEC by the end of February. Once that happens, the team will begin buying DEC off the market which should create a significant amount of upward pressure on the price - especially if we remain consistent with $30-40k worth of buying pressure every week.
Once that happens, we will probably see a good amount of sell pressure from players holding DEC to speculate as well as any cards that may be burned for DEC. As of now, there are still quite a few cards available selling below their burn value so this could still be a significant amount of DEC entering the marketplace.
The good thing though is that all of these sources of DEC are finite and faucets have been appropriately closed. With Survival Mode, Land 1.75, and Conclave Arcana all coming down the pipeline the next few months we could see a massive demand for DEC start impacting this limited supply - which means we'll see the supply squeeze at some point.
The only question mark is if the crypto market is going to cooperate. So far this has been a bitcoin only bull run and we have yet to see an associated alt season but maybe Splinterlands will be able to decouple at just the right time.
