This is a shameless looting Plan.

#Greetings friends!

I purchased splinterlands (former steemmonsters) starter packs much before the actual game started. I was one of the purchasers who purchased those packs and trusted that splinterlands will someday become a big game changer on steem (now hive).

When the game started, it was a big success. Rewards were excellent and gameplay was full of enjoyment as well. Once, the value of my splinterlands cards were more than $35000 which is just $550 now.

The things started changing since last two to three years. Splinterlands' management became greedy and directionless. They started cheating by allowing bots and their own accounts to win matches easily despite opponent having more favorable chances of winning.

That was the one thing. other thing they did was to change the reward system. Once chances of getting rewards decreases. Then they introduced soulbound reward cards which cannot be traded, transferred and thus has no monetary value. In this way they also decreased the value of old cards (alpha, beta, etc.) in the battles. Why would someone spend huge money on buying expensive alpha, beta etc. cards when he can have better soulbound cards that are full of powers? So, in this way they made their own cards devoid of values. That's why the investors are on great losses while the company made huge profits from selling their cards packs in the past.

Their shameless behavior doesn't stop here. Now they have devised a new idea. For playing wild format, you will have to buy vouchers. If someone had purchased the started wild packs, why should he or she buy vouchers to play with those cards? Is this not a organised loot? They are forcing the players to buy shit tokens to play the game for which they had purchased the card packs and there was no restriction in playing with them in the past. They are changing rules as if they are changing clothes. This is shameful and every game player should condemn it.

Thank you, if you could understand my points.

Pay to play in wild is indeed a realy stupid way to go.

But... to be honest, the decision to go this way was handled via proposal and the majority of the playerbase - or lets get more precise - whales voted yes for this braindead proposal.

It was labeled as "fighting bots", but in reality, small players are pushed out of wild because it is not worth it, and bot farms just combined their accounts and earn now shitload of SPS from wild format. This helped bots and punished players. So exactly the opposite of what the proposal aimed for.

So blaming devs is wrong here. Atleast for the "pay 2 play in wild". You should blame devs for not fighting bots in a real way. Like:

  • only KYC approved accounts are able to participate in proposals. And 1 vote = 1 vote and not that SPS based shit where 1 whale can outvote thousands of real players

Its a shame splinterlands will go down. Because down is the only way at the moment. All rats are leaving the sinking ship.

RIP Splinterlands.

Bots are causing problems. But, it is unfair to punish the genuine players.

only KYC approved accounts are able to participate in proposals. And 1 vote = 1 vote and not that SPS based shit where 1 whale can outvote thousands of real players

Splinterlands team doesn't need permission from players to change the game rules...

this was against the voting system in general, not particular proposals.

It is sad that you feel that way about the game.
The new player will have more steps to pass before enjoying the game. It is not always permanent change. I can testify, for the pass four years, I have been playing Splinterlands.
You can voice your opinion on the discord channel and support a proposal that will change the game the way you vision it.
Peace

The whole game has been destroyed by too much experimentation. It is no more enjoyble now.
