Melee Mayhem ruleset
Description:
Melee units can attack from any position.
Prime use case for melee units with Bloodlust.
Abilities take precedence where targeting is concerned.
The Battle Ruleset
Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
This is a middle mana ruleset game and four color is available to play, which is the Life, Death, Earth and Dragon Splinters. Playing in the Melee Mayhem ruleset is always a bit much easier, because it allows all the melee attack monsters to perform their attack even from the backline. It is easy to ignore this ruleset if you are not using any melee attack monster or you use them with special abilities like Sneak or Opportunity, which will override this. 😊
My Team Composition
Quix the Devious is a Dragon summoner and such I can use their monsters mixed with the color of my choice. He cost 4 mana and he has two debuff ability, which will reduce the speed and ranged attack of all the enemy monsters by one.
Uriel the Purifieris my number one choice of tank if I use the Life Splinter, because he is solid liek a rock as a tank. He has a lot of health and armor (which works against all the magic attacks as well in the Weak Magic ruleset), but more importantly he has the self Heal ability, which will restore his health when he is damaged once per round.
The Corsair Bosun is a Reach monster, which means he can attack from the second position and he will totally ignore the Melee Mayhem ruleset as well. He has a lot of damage and thanks to his Reflection Shield he is immune to Blast and reflect damage.
I used the Dhampir Stalker to Sneak up close to my opponent last monster in his backline and kill them quickly. She has the Double Strike ability, which means that she can attack twice i nthe same round dealing a lot of damage.
The Time Mage as her name suggest is a magic attack monster and I used her because she has the Slow ability, which will reduce the speed of all the enemy monsters. Combined with Quix is quite good as they will decrease the enemy monsters speed by two.
Adelade Brightwing is a support monster, but she also has two magic damage as well. My main reason using her is her Protect ability, which will restore some armor on a friendly monster once per round and her Resurrect ability, which will Resurrect the first friendly monster back to life with one health.
Dumacke Exile is a 6 mana cost Sneak monster, which is quite good and he has an excellent speed as well, which will makes him to attack first in every round and being able to dodge a lot of attacks. His 3 melee attack damage is a nice addition to my Dhampir Infiltrator to eliminate any threat at the backline of my opponent.

My strategy was to try to ignore the Melee Mayhem ruleset and I used two Sneak monsters and one Reacher, so my monsters will attack wherever I want them to attack.
Not much happened in the first round apart from the fact that my opponent monsters were missed a lot of their attacks. In the second round my two SNeaker killed his monster in their back who provided the Inspire ability (Gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack) to all of their melee attack monsters.
My Uriel attacked only once in the same round and thanks to his Recharge ability he one shoted the Djinn Chwala.
My opponent also had two Sneak monster and they killed my Dumacke Exile even thought he had a lot of speed, but at least Adelade Resurrected him back to life once.
The huge speed difference resulted a lot of missed attacks for my opponent monsters, which gave me the upper hand over their mosnters and acquired the win for me.
Do you like Melee Mayhem? Why or why not?
Even thought I played around the Melee Mayhem ruleset I very much like it, because it is possible to assemble a team with only melee attack monsters and if you want and you place some monsters with Inspire ability amongst them they might be a deaddly force. 😊
